These words can feel surprisingly difficult to receive.

We’re so used to improving, adjusting, becoming.
There’s often a sense that who we are right now isn’t quite enough.

But what if “as you are” doesn’t mean staying the same forever
it simply means beginning from a place of acceptance?

In practice, this might look like moving within your own comfortable range on that day.
Resting when the body asks.
Letting go of comparison.

Change can still happen. Growth can still unfold.
But it doesn’t have to come from pushing against our true state on any given day.

It can come from understanding.

Let’s meet ourselves there today —
just as we are, and gently from there. 🌿

☔️ It’s tsuyu - Japan’s rainy season - and that means ajisai (hydrangeas) are in bloom.

You’ll spot their colourful flowers brightening temple grounds, gardens, and quiet streets, often shining brightest on rainy days. 💙💜 You’ll see them in restuarants and hotels, people’s homes, and on their yukata - each season coming through in the decor, the fabrics, the pottery, in all aspects of daily life.

Ajisai don’t seem to mind the wet weather at all. In fact, it’s when they truly thrive.

A lovely reminder to appreciate the season you’re in. With the nourishment of the rain we can all be our most beautiful. The dark days bring learning and appreciation of the lighter days. And we usually all need a bit more hydration than we’re getting.
