🌏July 28 is World Hepatitis Day
Viral hepatitis continues to affect millions of people worldwide. Because viral hepatitis often causes few or no symptoms in its early stages, many people do not know they are infected.

Today, effective tools are available to prevent, diagnose, and treat viral hepatitis. Vaccines can protect against hepatitis B, and safe, effective treatments can cure hepatitis C. Early detection and timely care are essential to prevent serious liver diseases, including cirrhosis and liver cancer.

The 2026 World Hepatitis Day theme, “Hepatitis: Let’s break it down,” highlights the importance of improving awareness, expanding access to testing and treatment, and breaking down barriers to hepatitis elimination.
