WORLD CLUBFOOT DAY 2026

Yesterday, June 3rd, we joined the world in commemorating World Clubfoot Day, a day dedicated to creating awareness and celebrating children born with clubfoot.

Clubfoot is a musculoskeletal birth condition that affects the position of a baby's foot or feet. While the exact cause remains unknown, studies suggest that hereditary factors may play a role. Approximately 1 in every 100 children is born with clubfoot, with boys being more likely than girls to have both feet affected.
The good news is that clubfoot is treatable. With early diagnosis and proper treatment, children with clubfoot can grow up to live healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.

At Embu Level 5 Hospital, we remain committed to restoring hope and mobility through our dedicated Clubfoot Clinic, held every Monday. Currently, 1,007 children are benefiting from specialized care and treatment through this program.
If your child has clubfoot or you know a child who is suffering for this short term disability and would like more information, visit our clinic and let our specialists guide you on the journey to successful treatment and recovery.
Early treatment makes a difference.

As we conclude Mental Health Awareness Month this May, we are reminded that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Our Clinical Psychologist, Beth Karwirwa, has been shedding light on the mental health challenges that many people silently struggle with every day, including stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties. She also emphasizes the importance of recognizing the signs of mental distress and supporting those who may be struggling.
Mental health issues often go unnoticed, making them a silent challenge for many individuals and families. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and early intervention can make a significant difference.
We encourage anyone experiencing mental health challenges to seek professional support from our qualified experts. Together, we can break the stigma, promote understanding, and build a healthier community.
