COURT REFUSES INTERIM ORDERS: Public Warned Against Unaccredited Dentistry Training

The High Court has dealt a major blow to the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) by refusing to grant the interim orders it sought regarding dentistry training standards.

In what appears to be a diversionary move, COFEK has targeted established institutions such as the University of Nairobi, Moi University, and the Kenya Dental Association.

Yet, it has deliberately ignored a critical fact: the private university it is defending remains uninspected. It entirely lacks the mandatory infrastructure required to train dental surgeons, and it does not fall under the purview of the Ministry of Health.

Relying on rigged, outdated, and compromised inspection reports to market an unaccredited programme will not legitimize deep-seated institutional irregularities.

The public is hereby strictly cautioned. Seeking dental services from individuals trained under these compromised, unauthorized conditions poses a severe risk to public health. Do not compromise your safety by seeking treatment from unqualified practitioners operating without standard clinical qualifications.
