KEEPING UP THE MOMENTUM
My friend, Let’s be honest, one of the most challenging roadblocks that we face in our journey to achieving our goals is keeping our momentum going. It is hard. There are days that we feel totally no motivation to do anything and we just want to relax and do nothing. So what should you do when you fail to come up with the drive and to keep your momentum going?
In my journey of pursuing my dreams of publishing books, entrepreneurship, being a safety Ambassador etc, most of the time I set up very nice and achievable goals and start pursuing them but somewhere I stop and quit. This includes studying the bible, going to the gym, avoiding watching the TV, attending home church fellowships, sleeping early at 9pm and waking up at 4am etc. I start and quit after several days. I can honestly say that the major problem is not motivation but keeping up the momentum.
In other words, to keep achieving and keep making progress, you must maintain your momentum to keep going.
Motivation: Reason for someone to act/behave in a certain way; a general desire and willingness for someone to do something.
Momentum: Force, or speed of movement; the driving force gained by the development of a process or course of an event.
I have come to realize and conclude that Progress only happens when motion exists and motion is the results of actions. Motivation gets us wanting to start, action gets us started, momentum gets us closer. So what we need more is Action that creates momentum.
I have been reading books and watching stuffs and have realized that High performers choose to determine their own motivation. They work, they hustle, they practice to create the momentum that ignites their motivation. They do not wait for motivation to find them.
High performers build habits and systems/disciplines that stick.
Imagine when you’re pushing a car to jumpstart it with friends. When you first approach the car and push it, you need to exert a strong force and push it with all your might.
But once the car started to move a little, it becomes easier. You just need to maintain the force you exert on the car to keep it moving. And if you continue to push the car with all your strength, the car will move faster and faster.
This is momentum at work, And when it comes to achieving your goals and taking consistent action each day, the same principle applies. When you first started, it may seem very difficult. You need to put in a lot of energy and effort to get things done. The momentum made it easier.
Example is writing articles like I regularly do every day. I have so far written about 1100 blogs on different topics and Authored 14 books by the grace of God. If you have never written an article before, writing your first article can be a challenging task. You will feel that it is extremely difficult to do.
But if you continue to push on. Things become easier. This is because you have gained momentum and slowly, you get used to the process of doing it. If you write an article a day, after a few weeks or months, it will become a normal task for you. You don’t feel it to be as difficult as when you first started anymore.
The same goes for losing weight. You’re not going to lose all the weight in just one session of exercise. At some point I lost 12kgs within one month but the following month I gained 7 more. I was not consistent enough. You need to be consistent, enthusiastic and passionate. You have to stick to your plan and do it every day.
It will be tough at first, but once you get over it, it will become easy for you.
When you love what you do, you will continue to do it even when things are difficult or when you are not getting paid. But if you’re doing it for the money, you will give up soon enough when you don’t earn any money from your work.
Find your why. Discover your purpose behind your goals, your dreams, and why you do what you do. This is what keeps me going. As an Ambassador of Safety two of my companies deals with Safety, and it is not money that pushes me but purpose. The Why factor.
When you know your why, always keep it in your mind. Visualize and focus on the rewards and your purpose.
Your purpose builds your desire. Your desire will build your momentum and give you the motivation that you need to keep going.
Most people don’t understand what they want out of their lives and they have no idea what they’re passionate about.
Today, just ask yourself, “What is that one action I can take right now(immediately in the next 5 minutes) towards my goal?” Do It!!!
Building and maintaining your momentum is extremely important and requires you to be habitual and radical when it comes to achieving your goals. People fail to follow through their plans because they lose their momentum somewhere along the line.
Successful people understand the power of momentum. If you want to achieve extraordinary results in life, you need momentum. So learn to build your momentum, keep it, maintain it, and grow it.
When you have momentum, you become unstoppable.
Do you have a dream, goal, vision, calling, aspiration that is really stirring you up and you feel that once you achieve it you gonna become great? My Friend, Hang in there! Don't give up! Keep pushing! Keep fighting! Stay strong! Never give up! Never say 'die'! Come on! You can do it better!!!!!!!

The Ministry of Education should give a directive for all boarding schools to immediately release students for a compulsory break because of the tension in all schools. I've been invited by several institutions to speak to students in the last few days and my finding is that a break is crucial right now.
Parents should take responsibility to counsel their children immediately they come home. Intentional parenting is crucial.
We need to rethink the boarding schools model, it is not necessary, actually let's have all Primary and secondary schools strictly day schools then distribute the physical resources and human resources equally.
As parents we bear the major responsibility of raising our kids.

Even seasons have winters. Not every absence means someone stopped caring. Sometimes God pulls people into quiet places so they can heal, reflect, and return as the person they’re meant to become.
Some processing cannot be done publicly. The disappearing is not abandonment it is just someone going somewhere quiet enough to actually hear themselves think.
It is someone choosing to come back whole instead of staying available while they’re breaking.
Going quiet to sort yourself out isn't weakness it's the most honest form of self-awareness. The world will still be here when you're ready.
Not everyone goes through tough times by talking about them. Some people process things in private, heal quietly, and return when they’re ready.

A little grace can go a long way you never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.

If you look at these 12 pictures, I am the same Steven but with a different mindset, revelation and grace. What was my push and aspiration then Changed and it's because of the choices I made and grace at work. Here I look like those boys you disregard and treat them like they'll never amount to anything. The one am in a cap am holding a paper bag with drugs inside club Coco Savannah in Nakuru where I was a distributor. Would you think that one day I would be transformed, go back to school and become an A student, pursue great things and later become your son/daughter's role model and mentor? I discovered myself, took responsibility to change the situation I was in and started the journey of transformation by the grace of God. God changes people. You see those boys and girls in the village and estates that you look down upon and you feel like they are a disgrace to the society? One day when they get revelation and encounter transformational power will change and probably be an inspirational story for you.
Some of them are going through what they are in because of their assignment and mandate. An uncommon assignment attracts an uncommon adversary and thus the reason they are going through what it is they are in.
You could be the one going through adversity, disgrace, pain, friction, hot furnace, rejection and tough moments but don't mind. It's your time to pay the cost/price. Kubali kulipa gharama. The higher the sky scrapper the deeper the Escavation and foundation goes. Don't let the pressure of those eating their harvest make you eat your seed. There is a process that you have to go through to be prepared and become what you were meant to be though there is your part to play. You will experience divine orchestration, alignment and Supernatural leading and backing if you position yourself with the right mindset. Get a revelation, act accordingly. Press forward. Be you and face your future with a positive mindset.
When God delivers, heals and restores, He doesn’t just bring you back to your original condition, He brings you out better than you were before. God’s grace is bigger than any challenge, mistake, or setback. He is a God who makes all things new!
No matter what you have been through or what you’re facing, it’s not too late. God can bring healing and complete restoration to every area of your life. He is our Heavenly Father, and He is faithful to keep His promises.
You see, you cannot rise above the revelation you have. The moment you realize who you are, who God is, the potential you have, what your mind can then you will realize that a changed mindset is a superpower.
Revelation is power.
Revelation=Results
Revelation is life.
I realized that once you stand in your position, the Holy Spirit is going to coordinate everything you need to fulfill your mandate.
Things don't just happen, there is a power that makes things happen.
Your wasted years will become a fruitful field if you get a revelation, change your mindset and respond focusing ahead with prayers.
When I discovered about what I can do and be with a changed mindset, prayer became my first line of offense not my last line of defense.
I became a prayer warrior praying and fasting not only for today and current matters but for the future, decades to come, purpose and destiny. Today I have changed and inspired lives. I have authored books that have inspired dozens of people. I have been invited dozens of times as a keynote speaker to speak to young people and the testimonies I regularly receive stirs me to keep on sharing and motivating people.
Get a revelation. Discover yourself and start advancing. It's not too late to change. You will soon tell your story and your stories will be told and be used as case studies because of how high you will rise.
Once you get a revelation, you will discover yourself and recover all that was meant to be yours. You will even be entrusted with more. I have seen God entrust me with much and make me stand out even though am still work in progress. The convergence of grace will work in you, for you and through you. People will wonder how you've achieved all that.
Your manifestation will be witnessed and televised globally. Doors will open for you everywhere, the world will hear your testimony. You will shock everybody and will sound too good to be true.

COMPLETE OBEDIENCE; AN AVENUE TO DIVINE ENCOUNTERS
Some years ago, I was taking my wife to Ngong hills for her music video shoot and after paying the KWS fees at the entrance we were directed to take the 2nd left turn but we opted to use the 1st because it looked like a short cut to our direction. Some few meters along the way the road became very rough and full of gravel and at some point our car couldn’t proceed. Some Maasai kids taking care of livestocks told us that small vehicles don’t use that route rather they use the 2nd left turn(as per our initial instructions). We had already wasted about 45mins as the car got stuck at some point. We failed for not following the initial instructions.
The greatest test of life is the test of obedience.
God will speak to you specially, specifically and individually. He is always precise and requires simple but bold obedience and this bold obedience requires faith.
Your obedience to God’s instructions is a catalyst for God to move even though most of the time He’ll give you the ‘what’ but without the ‘how’.
If you are waiting on clarity from God, clarity comes with the journey.
Just like driving being guided by the Google map you have to keep obeying the instructions given every time and one instruction will lead you to a place and another instruction will follow. You have to obey the first instruction, start the journey for Him to give you the second after obeying the first.
Just like in the military where you are given instructions say ‘quick match’ where you have to match forward untill you get the next instructions, this is a kingdom of rules and regulations and all promises in the bible are connected to a command.

God will never advance new instructions beyond your last act of Obedience.
Partial Obedience is disobedience.
Delayed Obedience is disobedience.
Selective Obedience is disobedience.
Convenient Obedience is disobedience.

Everyone has at some point received instructions from God e.g about tithing, obeying your parents, giving etc There’s timing to obedience.
Even writing this article has costed me some obedience because I had an inner conviction to write it and avoided attending a crucial meeting and had to park at a road side for a long time to prepare it. I have sacrificed a business meeting to prepare it.
Is there a voice that came to you today to do or not do something and you obeyed or never obeyed?
How fast you obeyed the divine instructions determined your progress.
God requires that we fully, wholly and completely obey Him as per Deuteronomy 28:1-14
Obedience is the ultimate test for authentic commitment.
God will not instruct us to do what He Has not equipped us to do. He Has already given us grace and capacity.
Obedience is costly but the end result is priceless.

HOW DO WE GET DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS?
1. Through His Word(bible)
2. An impression of the Holy Spirit in your heart or mind(still voice)
3. A dream or a vision
4. A prophet(Your pastor or man of God)
5. An Audible Voice
6. Circumstances eg a car breakdown. Divine incidences. Nothing just happens.

CASE STUDIES
1. Abraham was told to leave his land, also told to sacrifice his only son. Genesis 12.
2. Noah was given instructions to built the ark and had not seen rain or ark before. Genesis 6:8
3. Jonah was sent to Nineveh but went to Tarshish
4. King Saul disobeyed God’s instructions until God regretted making him a king. 1Sam15
5. Wedding in Cana. Mary told disciples to do whatever Jesus would tell them to do. John 2:1
6. Simon Peter an expert in fishing was told to get into the deep see and release the net. Luke 5:1
7. The 10 men with leprosy were instructed by Jesus to go show themselves to the priest. Luke 17:11
Early this year I heard God instruct me to take some items to Nakuru to help in some kingdom work. The following day I started my journey but without the items but on my way I didn’t have peace and by the time I was getting to Ruaka my car displayed check engine light and I went to a mechanic around and 3 mechanics were not able to diagnise the problem. I proceeded with the journey but after St Paul University when joining the Nairobi Nakuru highway the engine went off at the middle of the road. I tried everything I thought would help and at some point got another mechanic who again couldn’t identify the problem.
I asked God what that meant and I heard a voice tell me to go back and prepare the items I was to carry and immediately I said okay and decided to go back I ignited the engine and it started running without displaying the check engine light and I drove back home and the following morning I called the servant of God who I was to support, told him about what I was to bring and I had a successful journey to and from Nakuru and the Congregation benefited alot from the equipment.
SOMETIMES IT’S NOT THE DEVIL, it’s HUMAN SPIRITS. IT IS YOUR ACTS OF DISOBEDIENCE.
The Widow of Zarephath ‘pretended’ she had HEARD NOTHING from God when Elijah the Prophet arrived at her gate following this Instruction from God.

We have people who are struggling to obey God after receiving Clear divine instructions.

To God 90% obedience is disobedience. It should be 100% obedience. Fully, completely and wholly.
The greatest hinderance to the will of God is the will of man.
Every act of Obedience or disobedience has consequences.
Walking with God means pleasing God and if you become a friend of God you’ll operate with high level of revelations, fruitfulness, blessings, divine Providence, progress and excellence. You will be sustained, break all limitations, experience a great catch and live an abundant life. You will POSSESS YOUR POSSESSION and live a purpose driven life.

A lot of time I share about my life experiences, obstacles, scars, bruises and challenges not because I live in the past but I appreciate the journey that helped shape me to be the person I am today.
In order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that shaped you.
You are the result of everything you have experienced up to now. Any mistakes in the past? ok. You learned. The past is not changed, it is not regretted and it is not denied, it just needs to be understood, accepted and forgiven to allow you to move forward doing better.
All of our experiences the good, the bad and the ugly, shape who we are.
We have to remember that our experiences are just that experiences/lessons.
What happened to us or what we have gone through does not have to define us and so we should not be ashamed of it.
I know some of you are going through a rough time, maybe you are in the fight for your destiny, fighting for your future, fighting for your career, fighting for your marriage, fighting for your health, some of you fighting for your life. You lost a loved one, was divorced, rejected, abused, used and misused. You are being humiliated, frustrated, depressed and bruised by life and for sure you will be left with scars. No doubt there will be marks in your life, but I assure you that you will overcome and sail to the other side.
That experience you are going through was a requirement to train and prepare you and also preparation for testimonies because you will require that experience to be encouraging others.
Be proud of your Scars, whether good or bad because they reshaped you to be the best version of who you are now. Always love your imperfections and don't hate them.
The tests we face in life's journey are not to reveal our weaknesses but to help us discover our inner strengths.
We can only know how strong we are when we strive and thrive beyond the challenges we face.
The scars we incur along the path to our great destiny are the STORIES OF OUR PURSUITS. EVIDENCE of overcoming odds, and not our life. IT IS OUR STORY.
Your scars are battle wounds to remind you that you are an overcomer and an evidence to show to other people that they too can overcome.
When you learn to appreciate the challenges that you face, you will become unstoppable.
All your failures and success has made what you are today.
Be grateful for them.
The Greater the obstacle, the more the glory in overcoming it.
Every scar is building your throne.

One day, you will look back on this time, and all you will see is the goodness of God. You won't remember how stuck you felt, or how far behind you thought you were, or what you wished you had done differently. All you will see is that within your uncertainty was also your potential, and within your lostness was also an opportunity to be found, and within your discomfort was also a chance to see what you needed to change, and changing it was you becoming the person you were always meant to be.
If there is one single thought that can comfort you in your darkest, quietest nights, please let it be this one day, you will look back on this time, and all you will see is the goodness of God.
