If you experience persistent back Pain this spinal decompression system is for you

07/07/2026

Many people assume spinal decompression therapy is only for lower back pain ,
but that's only part of the story.

When clinically appropriate, spinal decompression may help relieve pressure on the spine and nerves in people experiencing conditions such as:
✔️ Bulging or herniated discs
✔️ Sciatica
✔️ Pinched nerves
✔️ Degenerative disc disease
✔️ Chronic neck pain
✔️ Chronic lower back pain
✔️ Facet joint syndrome
✔️ Some cases of spinal stenosis

The first step is always a comprehensive assessment by one of our physiotherapists to determine whether spinal decompression is suitable for your condition.

If pain has been keeping you from doing the things you love, it may be time to explore your treatment options.

Bulging Disc Relief May Be Closer Than You Think.

A bulging disc doesn't always require surgery. For many people, spinal decompression therapy offers a non-invasive treatment option that helps reduce pressure on the affected disc and nearby nerves.

By gently stretching the spine in a controlled manner, decompression therapy can:
✔ Reduce pressure on compressed nerves
✔ Help relieve back, neck, and leg pain
✔ Encourage better movement and flexibility
✔ Support the body's natural healing process by improving nutrient and fluid flow to the disc

If you're living with persistent back pain, numbness, tingling, or pain that travels down your arms or legs, a bulging disc could be the cause and the right treatment can make a real difference.

Don't let disc pain control your life. Speak to our physiotherapy team to find out if spinal decompression therapy is right for you.

Speech Delay vs. Language Delay: They're Not the Same.

Many parents use the terms speech delay and language delay interchangeably, but they describe two different communication challenges.

Speech delay is about how a child says words. A child may know exactly what they want to communicate but struggle to produce sounds clearly or pronounce words correctly.

Language delay is about how a child understands and uses communication. They may have difficulty understanding instructions, building vocabulary, or forming sentences to express their thoughts.

Think of it this way:
🗣️ **Speech** = Saying the words.
💬 **Language** = Understanding and using the words.

Recognizing the difference is important because each requires a different assessment and therapy approach. The good news is that early identification and intervention can significantly improve a child's communication skills and confidence.

If you're concerned about your child's communication development, don't wait for them to "grow out of it." Seeking guidance from a speech and language pathologist early can make all the difference.

Today, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our Level 2 Dry Needling clinicians a milestone that reflects their commitment to excellence, lifelong learning, and better patient care.

We were honored to have the President of World
Physiotherapy Africa Region award the certificates and share a powerful message: continuous professional learning reduces emotional burnout, strengthens our professional identity, and reminds us of the value we bring as healthcare professionals.

Graduates were also encouraged to build strong professional networks across Africa, working together to advance dry needling practice throughout the continent. Africa has the talent and resources we only need to collaborate, learn from one another, and grow together.

Our administrator reminded the graduates to always practice safely, ethically, and professionally, upholding the highest standards of the physiotherapy profession.

What to Expect After 1 Month of Occupational Therapy

Every child's journey is unique, but after the first month of occupational therapy, you may start noticing important milestones:

✅ Your child becomes more familiar and comfortable with their therapy environment.

✅ They begin building trust and a positive connection with their therapist.

✅ Improved participation in therapy activities and routines.

✅ Better attention, engagement, and willingness to try new tasks.

✅ Early progress in skills targeted during therapy sessions, such as play, sensory processing, communication, or daily activities.

Parents and Caregivers play a vital role in the therapy journey. Consistently practising prescribed activities at home helps reinforce skills learned during sessions and can significantly support your child's progress.

Remember, meaningful progress is built through teamwork, patience, and consistency. The first month lays the foundation for growth, confidence, and greater independence.
