Harmful and “business as usual” funding practices do more than undermine justice and liberation movements—they create the conditions for fascism to grow by rewarding repression, silencing dissent, and weakening collective power. Moving toward liberatory practices is essential to building accountable, movement-aligned philanthropy that advances justice and systemic change. Learn more: www.raisethebarphilanthropy.org

📢 International S*x Workers' Day 2026
[aka International Wh**es Day]

Today, on International S*x Workers' Day, we honor the resilience, leadership, and ongoing struggle of s*x workers around the world who continue to fight for dignity, rights, safety, and justice.

This year, we stand in solidarity with our sisters, siblings, and communities across the Asia-Pacific region, while mourning the tragic loss of Sita, a 19-year-old Nepali s*x worker whose life was cut short by violence. Her death is a painful reminder of the dangers s*x workers continue to face when laws, policies, and systems fail to protect their human rights.

No one should lose their life because of stigma, discrimination, criminalization, or exclusion from legal protections.

As we commemorate International S*x Workers' Day, APNSW calls on governments, policymakers, and stakeholders across the region to strengthen efforts toward legal and policy reforms, including the repeal of punitive laws and the advancement of rights-based approaches that prioritize the health, safety, and human rights of s*x workers.

S*x workers deserve:
✊ Safety and protection from violence
✊ Equal access to justice
✊ Decent working conditions
✊ Freedom from stigma and discrimination
✊ Meaningful participation in decisions that affect their lives

Today, we remember Sita. We honor those we have lost. And we recommit ourselves to building a future where all s*x workers can live and work with dignity, safety, and rights.
