A woman suffered a heart attack during a flight to Florida.
When the cabin crew asked if there was a doctor on board, they got an answer nobody expected.
Fifteen people stood up.
They were all cardiologists.
The woman, 67 year old Dorothy Fletcher from Liverpool, suddenly became seriously ill while travelling to attend her daughter’s wedding.
By pure coincidence, a large group of heart specialists were on the same flight, travelling to Orlando for a cardiology conference.
Several of them immediately began treating her using the medical equipment available on the plane.
They set up a drip, monitored her condition and told the crew the aircraft needed to land as soon as possible.
The flight diverted to Charlotte, North Carolina, where Dorothy was taken for emergency treatment.
She recovered and was later able to attend her daughter’s wedding.
Of all the flights she could have been on, she suffered a heart attack on one carrying 15 cardiologists.
Sometimes the timing is almost impossible to believe.
