Strengthening county partnerships to celebrate nursing excellence.

Last week, representatives from the Nurse & Midwife Alliance (NMA) and the J&J Foundation had the privilege of meeting with Ms. Khatra Ali Abdi, Director of Health Services at the Council of Governors-Kenya, and her team to discuss county engagement in the implementation of the Nurse of the Year Awards.

The discussions centered on the critical role of county governments in recognizing and celebrating outstanding nurses and midwives, strengthening collaboration across all 47 counties, and ensuring the awards inspire excellence throughout Kenya's nursing workforce.

We are grateful for the insightful discussions and shared commitment to elevating the nursing profession through meaningful partnerships. Together, we are building a future where every county plays a role in recognizing, celebrating, and empowering nurses and midwives for their invaluable contribution to quality healthcare.
