Amenorrhea - I have no periods (me**es)!

Is that a problem? Maybe, maybe not. Consult your gynaecologist.

Amenorrhea is a lack of me**es. It is often because ovulation is not occurring.
- Pregnancy is a common cause of lack of periods.
- Menopause causes lack of periods
Other times one may not be ovulating due to many reasons coming from:
- The brain(hypothalamus & pituitary gland)
- The ovaries
- The inner linining of the uterus called the endometrium

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a common course of skipped / lack of periods.

• Social behaviour change and communication on lifestyle changes to prevent preterm birth, example:
• Smoking cessation
• Improved nutrition - Increased uptake of Iron and folate-rich foods
• Recommended physical activity
• Improved adolescent sexual and reproductive health services.
• Enhanced quality of ante-natal care packages for all women, including screening for STis, high blood pressure and diabetes.
• Timely diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
