Advancing patient care requires a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
History has been made at Metropolitan Hospital.
We are proud to announce a landmark moment not just for our institution, but for the region: the first bilateral robotic-assisted knee surgery in East and Central Africa, performed right here at Metropolitan Hospital.
Our journey in robotic joint replacement continues to create opportunities for our teams to learn, exchange expertise and strengthen the way we deliver care and today, that journey reached a defining milestone.
We had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Vincent Muoki Mutiso, one of Kenya's most distinguished veteran orthopaedic surgeons, who joined Dr. F***j O. Alkizim, our Head of Robotics and Orthopaedics, and our theatre team for this historic bilateral total knee replacement using robotic-assisted technology.
This landmark case brought together decades of clinical experience and the most advanced approaches to joint replacement creating a powerful opportunity to share perspectives, push boundaries and reflect on how we can continue raising the standard of care we provide.
For us, being Your Partners in Health means extending this commitment beyond our patients to the wider medical community. Through collaboration and knowledge exchange, we learn from one another, strengthen clinical practice and contribute to the sustained advancement of healthcare across Kenya and the region.
As we continue to grow our robotics programme, we remain focused on one thing: combining cutting-edge technology with clinical excellence, collaboration and empathy delivering care that is not only innovative, but centred on what matters most: the patient.
