August 2026: A New Month, A New Opportunity to Heal

As we welcome a new month, remember that healing is rarely a straight line. Some days you will feel strong, and other days you may simply be surviving and both are part of the journey.

This month, give yourself permission to:

💚 Check in with your emotions instead of ignoring them.
💚 Rest without feeling guilty.
💚 Replace self-criticism with self-compassion.
💚 Ask for help if the weight becomes too heavy to carry alone.
💚 Celebrate small victories, they are still victories.

Your mental health deserves the same care and attention as your physical health.

Healing is not about becoming a different person.
It is about becoming free to be the person you were created to be.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." – Proverbs 4:23

May this month bring greater peace than anxiety, greater hope than fear, and greater courage than doubt.

Take one small step toward your well-being today.

💚 Happy August!

Self-esteem is how you talk and think about yourself. That running narrative about who you are, what you can do, whether you are lovable, capable, safe, in control of your life, etc. Unhealthy self-esteem can either be low (self-loathing) or high (self-adoring or pride). So healthy self-esteem is when you are able to feel and think of yourself in a balanced way (the healthy way). Healthy confidence, self-respect, self-worth (valuing yourself), and self-compassion. It is not an obsession with self but really considering yourself in a healthy way. This means you balance self-compassion and compassion for others. Balance boundaries with yourself as well as with others. While taking care of others, you are taking care of yourself.

Unhealthy self-esteem leads to insecurity. Feeling inadequate, inferior, unlovable, fearful, anxious, and not in control of your own life.

These are some of the issues that impact our sense of happiness, peace, and joy.

Seek me out for sessions on grounding yourself in who you are In Christ, who you are as a valuable, worthwhile member of the human race. There is healing indeed

Distress Tolerance is a set of skills that help with emotional regulation.

This script helps us stay in the moment and assists us to truly ride the wave as we befriend the waves. See then as guides towards freedom and contentment.

This is so real. Let us rekindle the innocence with a touch of wisdom that comes from lived experience. Instead of constantly regretting past choices, let us instead replace them with wise choices. If you knew what you know now, how differently would you have thought, felt and acted? This is the better question instead of WHY it happened.

Happy New Month!

July Theme: Riding the Wave 🌊

Distress Tolerance

Life's emotions come in waves. Some calm, some overwhelming.

This month, we'll practice riding the wave instead of fighting it.

Distress tolerance is about getting through difficult moments without making them worse. Like a surfer, we can't stop the waves from coming, but we can learn to stay balanced until they pass.

Monthly Focus:
🔸️Notice emotions without judging them.

🔸️Practice grounding and self-soothing skills.

🔸️Pause before reacting impulsively.

❗️Remember: feelings are temporary, even when they feel intense.

July Reminder:
"You don't have to stop the wave, you only have to ride it."

Tonight at 9pm EAT/2pm EST... we are diving into how boundaries look like in the context of our African Community. Ubuntu, I am because we are .

How do we set boundaries while maintaining personal integrity? Speak the truth in love.

We all have been in situations where we had to withhold truth, that is lie, to avoid hurting/offending others ( it's called Saving Face)... Respecting elders while remaining true to self and God. Saying no without feeling intense guilt.

Let's talk.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads who do so much more than provide for their families.

A father's love, guidance, and presence help shape the emotional foundation of a child's life.

Fathers teach resilience through encouragement, confidence through support, and security through unconditional love.

They model strength with compassion, show how to navigate challenges, and create a safe space where children feel valued and understood.

The lessons fathers impart often go beyond words—they are found in the time they spend, the example they set, and the belief they have in their children.

These gifts help children develop self-esteem, emotional intelligence, empathy, and the courage to pursue their dreams.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures whose care and commitment help children grow into emotionally healthy, confident, and compassionate adults.

Thank you for the lasting impact you make every day.

Happy Father's Day!
