Mr. David Onderi represented APDK at the Wheelchair Training of Trainers (ToT) meeting held at JKUAT University. The engagement brought together key stakeholders committed to strengthening wheelchair service provision and promoting access to quality assistive technology for persons with disabilities.
Through such collaborations, we continue to build knowledge, capacity, and partnerships that advance inclusion, independence, and dignity for all.

APDK joined stakeholders from across the country for the National Conversation on Kenya’s Transformation Agenda Beyond Vision 2030, held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

APDK was represented by CEO Mr. Alex Kaluyu and Board Chairman Mr. Simon Gitonga, who joined the conversation on shaping a future that is people-driven, people-centred and grounded in the rights and aspirations of every Kenyan.

For APDK, conversations about Kenya’s future must place inclusion and disability rights at the heart of national development. The Constitution provides for dignity, healthcare, education, social security and equal opportunity — and persons with disabilities must be meaningfully included in defining what these rights look like in everyday life.

As Kenya looks beyond 2030, APDK remains committed to advocating for a society where persons with disabilities are not left behind, but are active participants in shaping the Kenya we all want.

The future of Kenya must be inclusive. The future must work for everyone.

Today, on , we celebrate young people who continue to imagine, create, speak up and lead, often in circumstances that are far from equal.

Whether in a bustling city, a rural community, a climate-vulnerable region or a place where opportunities are limited, young people share a simple but powerful desire: to live with dignity, be included, have opportunities to thrive, and build a future that works for everyone.

Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow. They are leaders, innovators, advocates and changemakers today.

At APDK, we believe every young person, including young people with disabilities, deserves the opportunity to participate, contribute and have their voice heard.

This , let’s move beyond celebrating youth and start creating the spaces, opportunities and systems that allow every young person to thrive.

Different contexts. Common aspirations. One shared future. 💙

Last week, from Wednesday to Friday, teachers from six comprehensive schools in Kibra came together for a three-day refresher workshop focused on making adolescent sexual and reproductive health education more inclusive and accessible for every learner. 💙

It was three days of conversations, reflection and learning. Teachers shared what has worked over the past three months, the challenges they have encountered, and the practical solutions needed to better support learners with visual, hearing, intellectual and physical disabilities.

Beyond the presentations and group discussions, the workshop was about building something that lasts, stronger referral networks, better communication approaches, school-based peer support structures and practical action plans for the next phase of implementation.

Because inclusive education doesn't happen by chance. It takes teachers who are equipped, schools that are supportive, and partners who are willing to invest in creating spaces where every learner can access information, ask questions and feel seen.

A big thank you to 100% for Børnene and TSC KENYA for their partnership and continued support in making this work possible. Together, we are taking steps towards learning environments where no learner is left behind. 🤝🏾💙

Disability is a natural part of human diversity, and every person deserves the opportunity to live, learn, work, and thrive without barriers.

True inclusion goes beyond good intentions, it means creating accessible spaces, challenging stereotypes, and ensuring that persons with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in every aspect of society. When we choose inclusion, we all benefit from a stronger, more compassionate, and more equitable community.

Let's work together to build a future where no one is left behind.

💙 Join us in championing disability inclusion every day.
