Today, a team from St John Ambulance Kenya had the privilege of being hosted at Microsoft offices for an engaging discussion with Mr Thomas Diero on how we can leverage technology to strengthen and improve various departments across our organization.

With the expert knowledge and insights shared, we explored practical, sustainable, and long-term solutions to some of the technological challenges we face, while identifying opportunities to move from where we are today towards the future we have envisioned as an organization.

As the world continues to evolve into a global village, embracing technology and innovation is no longer an option,it is essential. We are committed to enhancing our systems, processes, and activities to meet global standards and deliver greater impact to the communities we serve.

Importantly, Technology and Innovation is one of the five strategic pillars in our recently launched Strategic Plan, which was recently officially launched at State House by His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.

This engagement with Microsoft is therefore an important step towards turning that strategic vision into action. We look forward to building partnerships, embracing innovation, and developing lasting technological solutions that will position St John Ambulance Kenya for a stronger and more impactful future.

Technology. Innovation. Transformation. Impact.

Having successfully covered more than 600 kilometres from Busia to Nairobi, the team has now embarked on Leg Two ,a 500-kilometre journey from Nairobi to Mombasa.

Today at Shell Imara Daima, partners, leaders and well-wishers gathered to send off the riders as they prepared for another leg of endurance, purpose and camaraderie.

Among those present were CEO Paul Ngugi, FIHRM, CPM, OSS Vice President Mark Senteu, OSS Honorary Secretary and President Adan Sora, Managing Committee Chairman David Muriithi and Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris’ Personal Assistant, Jared Aminga.

Celebrating Talent, Creativity & Service Beyond the Siren!

Last week, the St John Ambulance Kenya family had the privilege of celebrating one of our own, Erick Cortina, at the launch of his three books at the Kenya National Library.

-Enjoying Your Youth
- Choose a Life
-Behind the Siren

The books explore personal choices, life experiences, and the realities of emergency response. Behind the Siren offers a unique glimpse into the demanding yet fulfilling world of Emergency Vehicle Operators and the people dedicated to saving lives.

Our CEO, Paul Ngugi, applauded Erick for this remarkable achievement and challenged us all to discover and nurture our untapped talents, skills and creativity. He also reminded us of the power of relationships, networking and social capital in creating opportunities for growth and impact.

The team also gained valuable insights from an engaging panel discussion featuring Wilson Tokwa, Kenneth Kiplagat, Faith Mongare and Emmah Kabache, and the MC Maureen Akinyi who shared their experiences and perspectives on saving lives during emergencies.

Congratulations, Erick Cortina! Your achievement is a powerful reminder that the skills and experiences we gain while serving humanity can inspire, educate and create lasting impact far beyond the emergency scene.

From responding to emergencies to telling stories that inspire—our people continue to make a difference.

Service, Teamwork & A Little Speed!

Who said first responders can’t race too?
Our very own Benson represented St John Ambulance Kenya at the IHRM Sports Day, and he certainly brought his A-game!

From responding to emergencies to racing down the track, Benson showed that teamwork, discipline and determinationare at the heart of everything we do. His impressive performance in the relay race had us cheering from the sidelines!

It was more than just a race,it was a celebration of partnership, teamwork and healthy living.

A big shout-out to Benson for flying the St John Ambulance Kenya flag high!
Service Above Self. Always.

Today, St John Ambulance Kenya was proud to participate in the IHRM Sports Day, celebrating wellness, teamwork, partnership, and healthy living.

As a trusted partner of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), we were honoured to provide ambulance coverage, emergency responders, and first aid support throughout the event.

Beyond providing emergency medical support, the day gave us an incredible opportunity to connect, engage, and strengthen relationships with many of our partners, professionals, and members of the HR community.

From the field to the marketing tent, this was a powerful reminder that strong partnerships save lives, build safer communities, and create lasting impact.

Together, we don’t just respond to emergencies—we prepare, protect, and serve.
