Why did we start Lanterna? It began with a simple belief: hospital-quality care shouldn’t end at the hospital door. 🏠

In this video, our founder shares the story behind Lanterna Home Health Care — and what we actually bring into homes every day:

🩺 Skilled nursing — wound care, IV therapy, tube feeding, and recovery support after a hospital stay

💙 Specialist condition care — physiotherapy, dementia care, palliative and disability support

👶 Mother & newborn care — postnatal visits, newborn monitoring, and breastfeeding support

🛏️ Medical equipment — hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, and mobility aids, for hire or purchase

🌿 Wellness & education — nutrition counselling and preventive health monitoring

A decade of care. A government-registered provider. A team of licensed professionals who treat you with the care you deserve.
If someone you love needs care at home, start with a conversation.

Reaching out for care support is often the hardest step. Here is exactly what follows when you contact Lanterna.
Step 1 — Initial contact. Reach us by WhatsApp or phone and describe your situation in your own words. No forms, no obligation.
Step 2 — Professional assessment. A qualified professional discusses your circumstances and advises on the support best suited to your needs — including, honestly, where support may not be necessary.
Step 3 — Your care plan. You receive a clear, tailored care plan — outlining who provides what, when, and at what cost — before any care begins. The decision remains entirely yours.

Ask these 7 questions before you let any home care provider into your home. Including us.
1. Does the provider offer the services you require? — medial nursing, help with daily living or specialized care
2. Are staff trained, qualified and experienced?
3. Do you have a dedicated care manager or contact person?
4. Do they have positive reviews or recommendations?
5. Have they clearly explained all fees
6. Are complaints or concerns taken seriously and addressed quickly?
7. Can care increase if needs change?
A professional provider will answer all seven without hesitating. If the answers are vague, keep looking — your family deserves better.
At Lanterna, we hold ourselves to this standard — and answer every question, in writing.
📌 Save this for when you're looking for a home care provider.

"Home care" is broader than most people imagine. Here's the full picture of what Lanterna brings to your home. 👇
🩺 Skilled nursing — licensed nurses at home for wound care, medication and IV therapy, tube feeding, catheter care, and ongoing monitoring after a hospital stay.

👶 Mother & newborn care — postnatal nursing visits, newborn assessment, breastfeeding and lactation support, plus Lamaze and antenatal classes.
🛏️ Equipment supply & hire — hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, mobility aids, and pressure-care mattresses, supplied and maintained by our team.
🌿 Wellness & education — personalised nutrition counselling, preventive health monitoring, and health education for patients and families.
Every service is delivered by our team: NCK-licensed nurses, KMPDC-licensed doctors, licensed physiotherapists, clinical officers and nutritionists, and trained caregivers working under supervised nursing care.

“Home care is just a fancy name for a house help.” Let’s correct that one — and four more. 👇
Myths keep families from getting support they genuinely need. The most common one? Confusing professional care with domestic help. A trained caregiver working under supervised nursing care — alongside licensed nurses and doctors — is a completely different standard from hiring help informally.
We also hear: “It’s only for the elderly.” “Hospital is always safer.” “It’s only for the wealthy.” Swipe through — each myth gets one calm, factual answer.
➕ Follow Lanterna for practical, honest guidance on caring for the people you love — every week.

The hospital discharge is not the finish line. The first week at home is where recovery is won or lost.
Wound care. Medication schedules. Moving safely. Knowing which warning signs mean “call a professional now” and which are a normal part of healing.
Most families are handed a discharge summary and a lot of hope. This carousel walks through what the first week at home actually involves — what family can handle, and where a professional nurse makes the difference.
This is general guidance, not medical advice — always follow your doctor’s discharge instructions for your specific situation.

Did you know you can rent a hospital bed, wheelchair, or oxygen concentrator for use at home? 🏠
Recovering at home works best with the right setup. Instead of buying expensive equipment you may only need for a few weeks, Lanterna offers medical equipment for rental or purchase — delivered and set up as part of your home care arrangement, or on its own.
Hospital beds · wheelchairs · oxygen concentrators · mobility aids and more.
If someone in your family is coming home from hospital soon, this one decision can make the first weeks dramatically easier — for them and for you.
📲 WhatsApp us on 0142 319 793 to ask about availability and rates. We’ll help you work out what you actually need — and what you don’t.

Before you let anyone care for your family at home, you deserve to know exactly who they are. Here’s our answer.

🩺 Licensed clinical officers, physiotherapists and nutritionists
🩺 Trained caregivers who work under supervised nursing care — never alone
Lanterna itself is a government-registered home nursing and healthcare provider. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to, and the standard your family should expect from anyone offering care at home.
Swipe to meet the roles behind the care. Questions about who would be assigned to your family? Ask us — we’ll always tell you.
