Four days of collaboration, specialized care and shared learning marked the successful conclusion of the Joint Urology and Cardiovascular Surgical Camp at KUTRRH.

The engagement brought together KUTRRH clinical teams and visiting specialists from the USA, led by Dr. Frederick Bw’ombongi, strengthening teamwork, hands-on skills transfer and capacity building in Urology and Cardiology. The teams reflected positively on the clinical outcomes and knowledge exchange, with High Reliability Organization (HRO) training and safety huddles emerging as key interventions in advancing patient safety and continuous quality improvement.

KUTRRH CEO, Dr. Zeinab Gura, commended the visiting specialists and internal teams for the successful collaboration and expressed appreciation for the equipment and consumables contributed by the volunteers, noting their role in enhancing specialized service delivery. Both teams reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the partnership through telemedicine, clinical exchanges, training, research and continued development of KUTRRH’s Urology and Cardiology programmes.

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) doesn't only leave physical scars - it leaves deep emotional and psychological trauma that often remains hidden behind closed doors. In many Kenyan homes, survivors suffer in silence, weighed down by fear, stigma, and shame.
It's time to listen, believe survivors, and create safe spaces where healing can begin. Every voice matters. Every survivor deserves dignity, justice, and support.
Together, we can break the cycle of silence and build homes and communities free from violence.
