The hardest part of moving abroad is not even missing home and your people.

Its the realization that most things are no longer familiar.

You no longer are familiar with systems, jokes, family, systems that used to occur naturally.

You realize that you now live in the in between and can never go back to how things were.

That’s the hardest part that you can’t erase!

🌎Majuu is a “sheng”/colloquial swahili word that does the most in our Kenyan communities!

I dare say its an analogy that does the most in most African communities depending on what you call moving abroad in your colloquial language😂🤩

🤷🏾‍♀️The visa paper work is always the easiest part, but what happens in between cannot even fit in a book, but I attempted to do it🤩

I wrote this chapter seriously laughing at what I was writing that is all so true and literally captures the subconscious and conscious changes that all Diasporans go through!

But when someone back home points it out, it sounds like we are proud and we are busy betraying our culture!
