FHOK is the largest national Non-Governmental Organization offering Sexual and Reproductive Health S There were only two methods then i.e. Pills and IUCD (Coil).

FHOK-Phoenix is one of the 12 Family Health Options Kenya Clinics. It was the first Family Planning clinic in Kenya and was started in 1962. It had moved from a site next to Kenyatta National Hospital and was then known as Family Welfare Clinic. Family Planning Methods and counseling was the only service offered then. The staff strength was five and headed by a Doctor who was seconded from the Ministry of Health. The overseer was the founder Chairman of Family Planning Movement - Dr. S. Mwathi. The Clinic had a team of field workers that were spread across the country. Situated in Phoenix House, fifth floor along Kenyatta Avenue. the medical clinic offers

full range of outpatient services. Information on Sexual Reproductive Health including

Cervical Cancer and Family Planning is offered within and outside the facility during Outreaches.
