What an unforgettable day it was at the 2nd Naivasha Mental Health Walk.
On Saturday 30th May 2026, we witnessed the power of a community coming together for one purpose: to champion mental health awareness and remind everyone that mental health matters.
The day began with the flagging off of our incredible cyclists who embarked on a challenging 75KM ride. Their determination, endurance, and commitment symbolized the resilience that mental wellness requires every day. To every cyclist who participated, you rode not just for fitness, but for a cause greater than yourselves.
We then took to the streets for the 5KM Mental Health Walk, bringing together people from all walks of life in a powerful show of solidarity. Every step taken was a statement against stigma and a vote for hope, healing, and support for those facing mental health challenges.
The event also provided an important platform for mental health sensitization, where various stakeholders shared insights, experiences, and knowledge on mental wellness. The conversations held, lessons learned, and connections made will continue to inspire positive change long after the event has ended.
A special highlight of the day was the recognition and awarding of our cyclists whose dedication and participation helped make this event a success. Congratulations to all the award recipients and every participant who contributed to the day's achievements.
I extend my sincere appreciation to all our partners, sponsors, stakeholders, volunteers, healthcare professionals, cyclists, walkers, media teams, and community members who made this event possible. Your support transformed a vision into a movement.
Together, we proved that mental health is not just a personal issueβit is a community responsibility.
As we celebrate the success of this event, let us continue the conversation, continue checking on one another, continue supporting those who are struggling, and continue building a society where seeking help is a sign of strength.
Naivasha showed up. Naivasha spoke up. Naivasha walked for mental health.
Until next time, the journey continues.
