President William Ruto's Message on Kenya's Vision 2060 – Reframed
1. As we shape Kenya's future, we must honestly ask ourselves why many nations have realized their full potential while we have often fallen short. More importantly, what should we do differently to ensure the next chapter of our country's journey delivers greater success than the last?
2. Four years ago, our national focus was not on planning a distant future but on overcoming a severe economic crisis. We worked together to stabilize the economy, restore confidence, rebuild resilience, and lay a stronger foundation for growth—and together, we made significant progress.
3. Vision 2030 was designed to transform Kenya into an upper-middle-income nation by the year 2030. Although we have not fully met that goal, this should not be viewed as a failure. Instead, it offers an opportunity to learn from our achievements, acknowledge our challenges, and chart a more effective long-term path through Vision 2060.
4. Africa remains one of the world's greatest opportunities, with a rapidly growing population, abundant strategic minerals, enormous renewable energy resources, vast arable land, and an expanding consumer market. Kenya must position itself to fully harness these strengths and build a prosperous future for generations to come.
