On 31 July 2026, the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC), in partnership with General Directorate of Animal Health and Production of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), conducted a training workshop in preparation for the Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) Survey on rabies among veterinary and animal health professionals in Cambodia.
The training reviewed the survey questionnaire and data collection system to ensure high-quality and standardized implementation before fieldwork begins.
As part of the VIRAGE research study initiative, the KAP survey will be conducted across all 25 provinces to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to rabies prevention, surveillance, reporting, and vaccination among animal health professionals. The findings will generate evidence to strengthen rabies surveillance, inform capacity building, and support Cambodia's rabies elimination efforts through a One Health approach.
