In pediatric trauma, what we see matters.
But what we measure decides.
The eye can be deceived.
Swelling, rotation, poor position — they hide the truth.
A small misalignment on X-ray is easy to miss.
But numbers do not lie.
The anterior humeral line (AHL) must pass the capitellum (C)
Baumann’s angle (BA) defines alignment ( 70-80 degree)
Radiocapitellar line (RCL) confirms the joint is correct.
These are not theory.
These are discipline.
One missed line — missed injury.
A few degrees wrong — malunion.
A wrong decision — lifelong consequence for the child.
This is why I don’t just look at films.
I measure. I check. I verify.
Because in surgery,
precision is responsibility.
We don’t guess.
We calculate.
