One of the most common questions we receive from international patients is:

“How long should I stay in Seoul after eye surgery?”

The answer depends on the procedure — but for many patients, vision correction can fit surprisingly well into a short Seoul trip.

🔹 SMILE PRO — 2–3 days
🔹 SMILE — 2–3 days
🔹 LASIK — 2–3 days
🔹 EVO ICL — About 1 week

For SMILE PRO, SMILE, and LASIK, the typical international patient journey may include:

Comprehensive Eye Exam → Doctor Consultation → Surgery → Next-Day Check-up → Enjoy Seoul → Fly Home ✈️**

Same-day surgery may be possible, but it is never guaranteed before your examination.

Your corneal condition, prescription, eye measurements, retinal health, dry eye status, and overall surgical eligibility must first be evaluated by our medical team.

For EVO ICL, we recommend allowing more time because your schedule may depend on your individual eye measurements and lens availability.

How long should I stay in Korea after eye surgery? 🇰🇷👁️

Your surgery may only take a short time — but proper follow-up care is an important part of your recovery.

At Samsung Miracle Eye Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul,
we provide a structured post-operative follow-up schedule based on your procedure and individual recovery.

For our international patients, we also plan follow-up visits around your travel and departure schedule whenever medically appropriate.

✈️ International Patient Follow-Up Guide

SMILE / SMILE Pro
Next-day check-up and/or a check-up before departure. Depending on your travel schedule, either visit may be selected when appropriate.

Cataract / RLE / ICL
A next-day examination is required.
A 1-week follow-up is also recommended whenever your stay in Korea allows.

LASIK
Next-day and 1-week examinations are both required.

LASEK / PRK
A Day-5 visit for bandage contact lens removal and a 3-week examination are both required.

For LASEK/PRK patients in particular, continued monitoring is important to check corneal healing, eye pressure, and determine when post-operative eye drops should be adjusted or discontinued.
