Medical AI Company GP Obtains Digital Medical Device Manufacturing Certification and CE MDR Registration.

[BioTimes] Medical artificial intelligence (AI) company GP Co., Ltd. announced on the 22nd that it has obtained digital medical device manufacturing certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. This approval is considered a stepping stone for GP's AI growth prediction solution 'GP Solution KmapDR' to make a full-scale entry into the medical market. The company had previously obtained ISO 13485 certification from a certification body.

Jehyuk Sung, CEO of GP, said, "This digital medical device manufacturing certification is an official recognition that GP's technology can be safely and effectively utilized in medical settings," adding, "We will lead the way in setting a new standard for domestic pediatric growth medical services that displays bone age through innovative body composition analysis without radiation exposure, and support the healthy growth of children."

Meanwhile, GP has completed manufacturing registration with the 'European Medical Device Database (EUDAMED)' as a CE MDR Class 1 medical device. The company plans to accelerate its entry into the global market with the goal of obtaining CE MDR certification and U.S. FDA approval in the future.

AI solution for analyzing bone age in children and adolescents has been designated as a New Health Technology (NET).

Bone age can be determined in just 5 minutes without exposure to radiation such as X-rays.

GP Co.'s KeyMap Doctor is exactly that, and based on this, the company plans to actively enter the domestic market, starting in the fourth quarter, primarily with tertiary general hospitals.
