World MS Day 2026 was last weekend — but MS doesn't keep to a calendar, and neither does the need for answers.

This year's theme, My MS Diagnosis, is about one thing: getting people the right diagnosis, sooner. Around the world, too many people wait years for clarity — living with uncertainty when timely, accurate diagnosis could open the door to treatment, support and planning.

Here in Cayman, the MS Foundation of the Cayman Islands offers local support and community for people living with MS and their families.

As we mark the end of Stroke Awareness Month, a reminder that recovery is more than physical. We were so delighted to have our own Ms Deshane Gutierrez Lopez, Clinical Psychologist and autism specialist selected to speak at this prestigious event. Ms Deshane is currently conducting her own research into autistic women's mental health as part of her doctoral programme- a much needed and long overlooked topic. Local Caribbean research is key to developing culturally responsive services and we can't wait to hear more about her findings!
