An emotional family trip to Armenia, a lifetime ago.
This place is a symbol of the Armenian Genocide collective memory, a bridge between the past, the present, and the future, but also between the Armenians of the Republic of Armenia and those of the diaspora.
The space feels like a collective sanctuary. Its architecture is minimal, reflecting both grief and dignity. The physical descent towards the flame makes visitors enter into remembrance, rather than just observe it.
