The 2026 American Guidelines for Americans

✅ Eat the right amount for you & watch your portions

✅ Protein VARIETY at every meal with 1.2-1.6g/kg/ day

✅ Introduce a variety of vegetables: 3 servings a day & fruits: 2 servings a day

✅ Incorporate healthy fats (from nuts, seeds, seafood, avocado) while limiting saturated fats to 10%

❓Recommending full fat dairy + counting red meat and full fat dairy as healthy fats
👉🏼 what about limiting saturated fats to prevent heart disease & elevated LDL cholesterol?

✅ Prioritize fiber rich whole grains

❓Limiting to 2-4 servings a day is not enough for a healthy active adult

❌Limit highly processed foods, added sugar & refined carbohydrates
