Today, I’m thinking of all the humanitarian workers in Lebanon who keep showing up, even when the circumstances are anything but easy.
Some have given their time, their energy, their hearts.
Some have risked their lives.
And some, painfully, have lost them while trying to be there for others.
To those we lost, we remember you.
To those who continue, thank you. 🤍
Maybe this is what humanity is really about: in the hardest moments, we still choose to stand beside one another.

August 4 did not leave us all in the same way.

For some, it lives on in an image…
For others, in a sound…
And for many, its impact is still carried in their bodies.

Trauma does not affect everyone in the same way, nor does it unfold at the same pace.
Perhaps the most meaningful thing we can offer one another today is understanding, not judgment.

May those we lost rest in peace.
And may we show kindness to everyone who still carries the weight of that day.

٤ آب ما غادرنا كلّنا بالطريقة نفسها.
في ناس بتتذكّره بصورة...
وفي ناس بصوت..
وفي ناس بعدا لليوم حاملة أثر هاليوم على أجسامها.

أثر الصدمة ما بيظهر عند الجميع بالطريقة نفسها، ولا بالوقت نفسه.
ولهيك، يمكن أهم شي منقدر نقدّمه لبعض بهيدا النهار... هو التفهّم، مش الأحكام.

الرحمة لكل من فقدناهم.
ولطفًا بكل من لا يزال يحمل أثر ذلك اليوم.

I’ve always been fascinated by places where history doesn’t feel distant.
In every street, every façade, every piazza carries the imprint of generations. Not as something frozen in the past, but as something still alive—woven into everyday life.
It made me wonder about the we leave behind. What will remain centuries from now? What stories, values, and creations will continue to connect those who come after us?
Perhaps that’s what I loved most about Florence: not only its architecture, but the quiet reminder that culture endures when generations choose to preserve it.

للآباء أثرٌ لا يُقال كلّه بالكلمات، لكننا نحمله في تفاصيلنا اليومية.
إلى الآباء الحاضرين بيننا، وإلى الآباء الذين غابوا عن أعيننا وبقي حضورهم يحرسنا من الأعلى.
كل عام وكل الآباء بألف خير.

فالخوف، التعب، القلق، والحزن ليست علامات على الضعف. هي استجابات إنسانية طبيعية للضغط.
القوة الحقيقية ليست في دفن الألم، بل في الاعتراف به قبل أن يتحوّل إلى عبء صامت.

⁨ حماية التراث ليست حمايةً للحجارة فقط، بل للذاكرة والمعنى والانتماء.
من صور، مهد الحرف، المدينة التي تشبه ذاكرة مفتوحة على شط البحر، إلى قلعة الشقيف في أرنون، ومن ومن بعلبك بمعابدها الشاهدة على آلاف السنين إلى تبنين وشمع ودير كيفا وغيرهم.. لا يبدو الدمار مجرّد خسارة عمرانية.
إنه جرحٌ في ذاكرة الوطن ، ومحاولةٌ لقطع الناس عن الشواهد التي تربطهم بتاريخهم، بأرضهم، وبحقهم في المستقبل.
الإبادة العمرانية لا تمحو الحاضر وحده، بل تمارس قطعًا مباشرًا للناس عن ماضيهم، وعن الشواهد التي تقول:
كنا هنا. عشنا هنا. وبنينا هنا.
