Beliefs and practices vary widely — some think it should happen immediately, others prefer waiting several minutes or even until the placenta is delivered.

But what does science say?

Research has shown that delayed cord clamping can offer important benefits for the baby, which is why current recommendations generally support waiting before clamping the cord — often around 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the situation and the condition of both mother and baby.

Every birth is different, and understanding the “why” behind these recommendations helps parents make informed decisions with confidence.

Our childbirth preparation sessions are designed to guide you through the latest evidence-based recommendations regarding pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, and more.

More Than Just a Kick !

There is a moment in every pregnancy where it stops being an “idea” and starts being a person. That moment is the first time you feel them move.
Did you know baby movements are often a response to your voice, your lunch, or even your position? When they kick, they are communicating their comfort or their excitement. It’s a two-way street.

Tip: In the quiet moments of the evening, place your hands on your belly and just breathe. You aren’t just feeling a physical movement; you are experiencing the only language your baby has right now.

When did you first feel your “little roommate” say hello? Tag a mama-to-be who is waiting for that first flutter!

Today we celebrate the hands that guide, the voice that reassures, and the presence that supports every step of the journey.

Midwives don’t just deliver babies —
they provide care before, during, and long after birth.

From prenatal support to postpartum recovery, their role shapes safer, calmer, and more empowered experiences.

Happy International Midwives’ Day 🤍

Think of your pelvic floor like any other muscle group in your body. If you injured your knee or your shoulder, would you say, “Well, it’s been a year, I guess I’ll just live with the pain forever”? Of course not. You would do the work to regain your strength.

Doing pelvic floor work now isn’t just about fixing what happened during birth; it’s about protecting yourself from what happens later. We are talking about preventing prolapse, incontinence, and chronic back pain during menopause and beyond.

Stop waiting for a “perfect time” to start. The best time is today. Are you 3 months, 3 years, or 30 years postpartum?

Many women consider switching to formula because they’re worried about their body changing. But here’s the truth: The change happens during pregnancy, not during nursing.

The Reality: During those 9 months, your hormones stretch the ligaments in your breasts to prepare for baby. Whether you breastfeed for a day or a year, that stretch has already happened.

What actually causes “the sag”?
•Pregnancy itself (the weight gain and hormones).
•Genetics (thanks, mom!).
•Age & Gravity.
•Smoking (it kills skin elasticity).

The Bottom Line: Don’t skip breastfeeding just to “save” your chest—the biology has already done its thing!
Your breasts are amazing for what they’ve built.

Beyond the “6-Week Wait“
The most common question I get in postpartum follow-ups isn’t about sleep or feeding—it’s about intimacy. Specifically: “When will things go back to how they were?”

Here is the truth you won’t hear in a standard check-up: Your body has gone through a massive physiological and hormonal transformation. The goal isn’t to find the “old you,” but to get to know the “new you.”

It’s about adaptation. It’s about communication, patience, and understanding the mechanics of your pleasure. If it feels different, that’s because it is different—and different can be beautiful.

This is where Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation comes in. We don’t just “fix” muscles; we help you reconnect with your body’s foundation. We work on scar mobility, muscle relaxation, and tissue health so that you can move toward intimacy with confidence instead of fear.

You aren’t broken. You are evolving. Let’s make sure your
foundation is ready for the journey.

If you feel like your nose has become a professional tracking device for everything “gross” in your kitchen—you aren’t alone. It’s actually your body’s ancient way of protecting you.

During the first trimester, your sense of smell (hyperosmia) is dialled up to 100. Why?

Evolutionarily, this helped pregnant women avoid potentially spoiled or toxic foods before the baby’s placenta was fully formed. Your nose is acting as a biological security guard!

“Morning” sickness is often a blood sugar issue. When your stomach is empty for too long (like overnight), your blood sugar drops, which triggers the nausea.

Dealing with more than just a little queasiness? Let’s talk about it.

Hemorrhoids are a sign that the pressure in your pelvic basin is out of balance.
While “waiting for it to pass” is an option, most women want relief now.

But managing this isn’t just about a random cream—it’s about changing how your body handles internal pressure.
Important: If you are pregnant, do not self-medicate. Always contact your healthcare provider first to ensure treatments are safe for you and the baby. There are preventive medications that can stop the symptoms from worsening before they become a major issue.

Pregnancy weight gain isn’t about “getting bigger”; it’s about building a life-support machine.

If you’re staring at the scale in shock, remember that your body is currently undergoing the most intense “renovation” of its life.

My advice? Focus on nutrient density, not “eating for two.” Your baby needs vitamins and minerals, not double the calories.

➡️ Want a personalized pregnancy wellness plan that protects your pelvic floor and keeps your gain healthy? Book a Prenatal Consultation.
