What a tantrum looks like inside your child’s brain 🧠

Your child isn’t giving you a hard time. They’re having a hard time.
During a tantrum, the thinking part of your child’s brain (the part that reasons, calms down, and listens) literally goes offline. The emotional part takes over completely.
So when you say “calm down” or “stop crying”… their brain genuinely can’t process it yet.
Comment the word “CALM” and I’ll send you my free guide: 3 phrases that help your child’s brain settle in under 60 seconds.
Save this for the next meltdown and share it with a parent who needs to hear it today.

Scientists say this ONE thing predicts success in kids more than grades.

It’s not flashcards. It’s not tutoring.

It’s unstructured play.

When kids play freely, they learn to:
✅ Regulate emotions
✅ Solve problems creatively
✅ Build resilience
✅ Lead AND collaborate

Stop scheduling every second of their day. Give them space to just be kids.

Your future adult will thank you. 💛

Things our kids teach us about feeling our feelings 💛

We spend so much time teaching kids how to handle big emotions… but if we’re honest, they’re often the ones showing us the way.

🌱 They cry when they’re sad, no apologizing for it
🌱 They get mad, then 5 minutes later they’re laughing again
🌱 They ask for a hug when they need one, no shame, no overthinking
🌱 They feel it ALL the way through, then let it go

What if we did the same?

Tonight reflect on this question what is one thing your kid has taught you lately?

They slammed the door, then asked for a hug 10 minutes later. Sound familiar? That’s not manipulation, that’s a developing brain trying to figure out big feelings. Save this for when you need a reminder on what's happening with your tween! You’ve got this, parent.

They heard you the first time. 😅

Your kid isn’t ignoring you ; they’re testing you.
Kids push limits to find where the wall is.
No wall = no safety = more pushing.

The parent they respond to fastest? The one who holds the line.

Stop negotiating. Start deciding. Be the wall, lovingly.

Consistency isn’t strict. It’s the most loving thing you can do for your child. 💛

If I could whisper one thing in my child’s ear every single day, it would be this 👇
You don’t have to compete with anyone.
Take your time. Breathe. Play. Dream.
The most beautiful thing about you? That big, beautiful heart ❤️
And this family? We are in your corner — today, tomorrow, and every day after.
That’s it. That’s all. 🤍

Your child doesn’t need a parent who never disappoints them.

They need one who prepares them.

Gentle parenting got one thing right — connection matters. But somewhere along the way, connection got confused with zero consequences. And our kids are struggling because of it.

The truth? Boundaries aren’t the opposite of love.
They ARE the love.

Kids who thrive aren’t the ones who never heard “no” — they’re the ones who heard it consistently, warmly, and without apology.

Structure isn’t scary. Unpredictability is.
