June is quite special to my heart. It all began in June 2016. Nine years of love. Nine years of exploring. Nine years of moving. Nine years of researching. Nine years of evolving from just living to becoming intentional with life. Nine years of learning. Nine years of practice. Nine years of highs and lows.
I recently reflected on how it all started and realized that, years later, I’m still here, but so much has changed.
Nine years of traveling the world and practicing with so many people. People who have stayed in my life to this day. People I am grateful for and blessed to have. In these nine years, I opened two locations and eventually decided to shut them down. I taught hundreds and hundreds of classes, got married, had a baby, was severely injured, came back... and I say all this in disbelief that it’s been nine years.
And I did it all! I did the online hype, the aesthetics, the trends, the quotes, the beautiful poses... the egocentric wellness advocate... I did it all! 😆
And then... it all fell apart because it didn’t reflect reality or why I actually do this.
For me, yoga saved me during the darkest times, and for so many years I wanted to share this practice because I knew how much it had done for me, and I wanted the same for others. But some days, it just didn’t work because I forgot that before being a yogi, if I am one, I am a human being, and my suffering is no different from anyone else’s.
I would say this last year has been the most transformative period of my life as I became a mother to the sweetest little girl. Stepping into this new role has made me reach a new space of understanding and embodiment that I honestly had no awareness to ever be.
And as this journey continues, I have so many thoughts and prayers. I am blessed. I am grateful. I am thankful.
Thank You, God, for this beautiful gift!
