Stage I papillary and follicular thyroid cancer in patients 55 years of age or older. The cancer is found only in the thyroid gland (thyroid) and the tumor is 4 cm or less.
Stage II papillary and follicular thyroid cancer in patients 55 years of age or older (Part 1). The cancer is found in the thyroid gland (thyroid), and the tumor is 4 cm or less. The cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes.
Stage III papillary and follicular thyroid cancer in patients 55 years of age or older. The tumor is any size and the cancer has spread from the thyroid gland (thyroid) to the soft tissue under the skin, esophagus, trachea, larynx or recurrent laryngeal nerve (nerve that goes to the larynx). It is possible that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes.
Stage IV papillary and follicular thyroid cancer in patients 55 years of age or older. The tumor is of any size and the cancer a) has spread to the tissue in front of the spine, b) surrounded the carotid artery or c) surrounded the blood vessels in the area between the lungs. It is possible that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes.
Stage IVB papillary and follicular thyroid cancer in patients 55 years of age or older. The tumor is of any size and the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, such as the lungs or bones. It is possible that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes.

Cáncer de tiroides papilar y folicular en estadio I en pacientes de 55 años o más. El cáncer se encuentra solo en la glándula tiroidea (tiroides) y el tumor mide 4 cm o menos.

Cáncer de tiroides papilar y folicular en estadio III en pacientes de 55 años o más. Cáncer de tiroides papilar y folicular en estadio IVA en pacientes de 55 años o más. El tumor es de cualquier tamaño y el cáncer a) se diseminó al tejido delante de la columna vertebral, b) rodeó la arteria carótida o c) rodeó los vasos sanguíneos del área entre los pulmones. Es posible que el cáncer se haya diseminado a los ganglios linfáticos.
Cáncer de tiroides papilar y folicular en estadio IVB en pacientes de 55 años o más. El tumor es de cualquier tamaño y el cáncer se diseminó a otras partes del cuerpo, como los pulmones o los huesos. Es posible que el cáncer se haya diseminado a los ganglios linfáticos.
