Together, we brought care closer to home. ๐ฉบ
Around 800 people from Mawathawewa, Nallamudawa and surrounding villages walked into Mawathawewa Vidyalaya and walked out with medicine, answers, and a clearer view of the world.
The Rotary Club of Anuradhapura Mawathawewa Mega Health Camp and Community Service Project brought together:
๐ฉบ General medical consultations
๐ฉธ Blood sugar and CKD screening
๐ Prescribed medicine distribution
๐ Vision screening and free spectacles under the district's Sharp Eyes Learn Better project
โค๏ธ A blood donation campaign
๐ธ Well Women clinic, including cervical cancer screening
๐ง Mental health counselling
โ๏ธ Legal aid and identity card facilitation
๐ Health education by doctors and medical students
And because a health camp should never feel like a hospital, the children got a day of their own โ a bouncing playhouse, a movie, popcorn, ice cream and rambutan. Families went home with fruit plants to plant and grow.
Our sincere thanks to the Lions Club of Anuradhapura for donating a valuable stock of medicine, and to the government authorities, health officials, medical teams, the school administration, Grama Niladhari officers, Samagi Shakthi Sansadaya, religious leaders, media representatives, volunteers and donors who made this day possible.
This is what Service Above Self looks like in our own back yard. ๐๐
