The Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, proudly participated in the "Rise Beyond Limits" Exhibition on Disability and Rehabilitation Services, organized by the Community Stream, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, on 13 July 2026 at the UCFM Tower.

As part of the CAPAGE (Capacity Building in Ageing and Geriatric Care) Erasmus+ Project dissemination activities, the Centre showcased the state-of-the-art technologies established at the Geriatric Assessment Laboratory, including the TYMO® Balance Assessment System and the PABLO® Functional Assessment and Rehabilitation System. Visitors had the opportunity to experience these innovative technologies through complementary functional assessments, demonstrating their role in evidence-based physiotherapy and geriatric care.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who visited our stall and contributed to making this event a success. Together, we continue to advance innovation, education, and excellence in rehabilitation and healthy ageing.

𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬’ 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, successfully conducted a workshop on “Functional Retraining in Neurorehabilitation” on 22nd June 2026 at the Skills Lab, Level 11, UCFM Tower.

The session was conducted by Dr Nadeesha Kalyani, Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy, School of Health, Psychology and Medical Sciences, University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

The workshop focused on contemporary approaches to functional retraining in neurorehabilitation, emphasizing evidence-based physiotherapy practices, patient-centred rehabilitation strategies, and practical applications to improve functional outcomes among individuals with neurological conditions.

More than 50 physiotherapy undergraduates actively participated in this valuable learning experience, gaining insights into advanced neurorehabilitation concepts and practical skills from an international academic expert.

The Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, extends its sincere appreciation to Dr Nadeesha Kalyani for sharing her expertise and contributing to the professional development of future physiotherapists.
