නිකිණි සිසිල් සඳ කිරණින් ලොවම නිවී,
දහම් සිසිල හදවත් තුළ සෙමින් වැදී,
කෙලෙස් මලින් පිරි සිතුවිලි සසල නොවී,
නිවන් මඟට සිත් දොරගුළු විවර වුණී..

ගුවන් ගැබ සිසාරා නැගෙන නිකිණි පුර පසළොස්වක සිසිල් සඳ කිරණ, අප සිත් තුළට රැගෙන එන්නේ අපූර්ව ශාන්තියක් සහ ආධ්‍යාත්මික පිබිදීමක්. මෙම උතුම් දිනය සම්බුද්ධ ශාසනයේ චිරස්ථිතිය, කැපවීම සහ ප්‍රඥාවේ ආලෝකය ලොවට කියන නිහඬ ස්මාරකයක් බඳුයි. බුද්ධ පරිනිර්වාණයෙන් පසුව සම්බුද්ධ ශාසනයේ චිරස්ථිතිය උදෙසා සිදුවූ සුවිශේෂී ඓතිහාසික මොහොතක් සිහිපත් කරන පුණ්‍යමය දිනයක් ලෙසද නිකිණි පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය හැඳින්විය හැකියි. මෙහිදී ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් සිහිපත් කරනු ලබන්නේ බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ ඇවෑමෙන් ධර්ම විනය සුරක්ෂිත කිරීම උදෙසා මහා කාශ්‍යප මහ රහතන් වහන්සේගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් රජගහනුවර වේහාර පර්වත ප්‍රාන්තයේ සප්තපර්ණී ගුහාද්වාරයේ දී ප්‍රථම ධර්ම සංගායනාව ආරම්භ කිරීමයි. එසේම බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ අග්‍ර උපස්ථායක වූ ආනන්ද හිමියන් සියලු කෙලෙසුන් නසා මහ රහත් භාවයට පත්වීම සහ බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ ලලාට ධාතුන් වහන්සේ නිධන් කර සේරුවාවිල මංගල මහා චෛත්‍යය රාජයාණන් වහන්සේ ඉදිකිරීම් ආරම්භ කිරීම වැනි ශාසනික වැදගත්කමකින් යුත් සිදුවීම් රැසක් නිකිණි පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය හා සම්බන්ධ වේ.

ඉඳින් ඔබට නිසල නිවන් මඟ සිහිපත් කරන, ධර්මාලෝකයෙන් සිත් සැනසී නිවී යන, පින්බර නිකිණි පොහොය දිනයක් වේවා !

The cool, serene rays of the Nikini Full Moon, spreading across the vast sky, bring a profound sense of peace and spiritual awakening to our minds. This sacred day stands as a quiet monument to the perseverance, wisdom and enduring continuity of the Buddha Sasana, reminding the world of the light of the Dhamma.

The Nikini Full Moon Poya Day is regarded as a meritorious day that commemorates a significant historical moment in the preservation and continuation of the Buddha Sasana following the Parinibbana of Lord Buddha. Foremost among the events remembered on this sacred day is the commencement of the First Buddhist Council, held under the leadership of the Venerable Maha Kassapa Thera at the entrance to the Sattapanni Cave, on the slopes of Mount Vehara in Rajagaha. The Council was convened to preserve and safeguard the Dhamma and Vinaya following the passing away of Lord Buddha.

Nikini Full Moon Poya Day is also associated with several other events of great significance to the Buddha Sasana, including Venerable Ananda Thera, Lord Buddha’s chief attendant, attaining Arahantship after eradicating all defilements and the commencement of the construction of the Seruwawila Mangala Maha Chaitya, enshrining the sacred forehead relic of Lord Buddha.

அனைவருக்கும் தர்மத்தின் ஒளியால் மனம் சாந்தியடைந்து, ஞானத்தின் ஒளியால் மனம் தெளிவடைந்து, அமைதியான நிர்வாணப் பாதையை நினைவுகூரும், புண்ணியமிக்க நாளாக நிகிணி பௌர்ணமி தினம் அமையட்டும்.

මීලාදුන් නබි යනු අල්ලාහ් දෙවියන් වහන්සේගේ දූතයාණන් වන මුහම්මද් නබි (සල්ලල්ලාහු අලෙයිහි වසල්ලම්) තුමාණන්ගේ උපතත්, උතුම් ජීවිතයත්, මිනිස් වර්ගයා වෙත ඔවුන් විසින් ලබා දුන් සුන්දර ඉගැන්වීම්ත් සිහිපත් කරන වැදගත් දිනයකි.

මක්කාවේ උපත ලැබූ මුහම්මද් නබි (සල්) තුමාණන් සත්‍යවාදී බව, අවංකභාවය, විශ්වාසවන්තභාවය සහ යහපත් චරිතයේ ආදර්ශයක් ලෙස කටයුතු කළහ. “අල්-අමීන්” සහ “අස්-සිද්දීක්” යන ගෞරව නාමයන්ගෙන් පිදුම් ලැබූ ඔවුන්, දෙවියන් වහන්සේට නමස්කාර කිරීම, යුක්තිය, කරුණාව, සමානාත්මතාව, සමාව දීම සහ මනුෂ්‍යත්වය පිළිබඳ ඉගැන්වීම් ජනතාවට ඉගැන්වූහ. එමෙන්ම
බොහෝ දුක්ඛිත තත්ත්වයන්ට සහ විරෝධතාවන්ට මුහුණ දීමට සිදු වූව ද, ඔහු ඉවසීම සහ යහපත් ගුණධර්ම කිසිවිටෙක අත් නොහැරියේය. තමන්ට පීඩා කළ අයට පවා සමාව දුන් ඔවුගේ ජීවිතය ආදරය, සාමය, ඉවසීම සහ සහජීවනය පිළිබඳව ආදර්ශයක් වේ.

මීලාදුන් නබි දිනය අපට සිහිපත් කර දෙන්නේ මුහම්මද් නබි (සල්) තුමාණන්ගේ ජීවිතය සිහිපත් කිරීම පමණක් නොව, ඔවුන්ගේ යහපත් ගුණධර්ම අපගේ ජීවිත තුළ ද ක්‍රියාවට නැංවීමේ වැදගත්කමයි.
මේ අනුව, නබි මුහම්මද් (සල්) තුමාණන්ගේ උපත සිහිපත් කරන මීලාදුන් නබි දිනය ආදරය, සාමය, සහෝදරත්වය සහ මනුෂ්‍යත්වය අපගේ ජීවිත තුළ ක්‍රියාවට නැංවීමේ වැදගත්කම අවධාරණය කරන පූජනීය දිනයක් කරගනිමු.

Meelad-un-Nabi is a significant day that commemorates the birth of the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), as well as his noble life and the beautiful teachings he gave to humanity.

Prophet Muhammad, who was born in Makkah, was a role model of truthfulness, honesty, trustworthiness and good character. He was honoured with titles such as “Al-Ameen” (the Trustworthy) and “As-Siddiq” (the Truthful). He taught people to worship the One God and to uphold justice, compassion, equality, forgiveness and humanity.

Even when he faced numerous hardships and opposition, he never abandoned patience or good character. His ability to forgive even those who persecuted him makes his life a beautiful example of love, peace, tolerance and harmony.

Meelad-un-Nabi reminds us that commemorating the life of Prophet Muhammad is not merely about remembering his life, but also about incorporating his noble qualities into our own lives.

Thus, Meelad-un-Nabi, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, is a sacred and meaningful occasion that reminds us of the importance of practising love, peace, brotherhood and humanity in our daily lives.

மீலாது நபி என்பது இறைத்தூதர் முஹம்மது நபி ஸல்லலாஹு அலைஹிவஸல்லம் அவர்களின் பிறப்பையும், அவர்களின் உயர்ந்த வாழ்க்கையையும், மனிதகுலத்திற்கு அவர்கள் வழங்கிய அழகிய போதனைகளையும் நினைவுகூரும் சிறப்புமிக்க நாளாகும்.

மக்காவில் பிறந்த முஹம்மது நபி (ஸல்)அவர்கள் உண்மை, நேர்மை, நம்பகத்தன்மை மற்றும் நல்லொழுக்கத்தின் முன்மாதிரியாகத் திகழ்ந்தார்கள். “அல்-அமீன்” "அஸ் ஸித்தீக்" எனப் போற்றப்பட்ட அவர்கள், ஒரே இறைவனை வணங்குதல், நீதி, கருணை, சமத்துவம், மன்னிப்பு மற்றும் மனிதநேயம் ஆகியவற்றை மக்களுக்கு போதித்தார்கள்.

பல துன்பங்களையும் எதிர்ப்புகளையும் சந்தித்தபோதும், பொறுமையையும் நற்குணத்தையும் கைவிடவில்லை. தம்மைத் துன்புறுத்தியவர்களைக்கூட மன்னித்த அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கை, அன்பு, அமைதி, சகிப்புத்தன்மை மற்றும் நல்லிணக்கத்தின் அழகிய முன்மாதிரியாகும்.

மீலாது நபி நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுவது, முஹம்மது நபி (ஸல்) அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை நினைவுகூர்வது மட்டுமல்ல; அவர்களின் நற்குணங்களை நமது வாழ்விலும் கடைப்பிடிப்பதாகும்.

இவ்வாறு, நபிகள் நாயகம் முஹம்மது (ஸல்) அவர்களின் பிறப்பை நினைவுகூரும் மீலாதுன் நபி தினம், அன்பு, அமைதி, சகோதரத்துவம் மற்றும் மனிதநேயம் ஆகியவற்றை நம் வாழ்வில் கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டியதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைக்கும் புனிதமான நாளாகும்.

ලෝකවාසී බෞද්ධ ජනතාවට ඉතාමත් වැදගත් පොහොය දිනයක් ලෙස ඇසළ පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය හැඳින්විය හැකිය. බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ උතුම් ධර්ම දේශනා මෙහෙවර ආරම්භ වූ ඓතිහාසික මොහොත සිහිපත් කරන පුණ්‍යමය දිනයක් ලෙස ඇසළ පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය හැඳින්විය හැකිය.

ඇසළ පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයේ ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් සිහිපත් කරනු ලබන්නේ බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ විසින් ඉසිපතන මිගදායේ දී පස්වග මහණුන් අමතා උන්වහන්සේගේ ප්‍රථම ධර්ම දේශනාව වන ධම්මචක්කප්පවත්තන සූත්‍රය දේශනා කිරීමයි. එමගින් චතුරාර්ය සත්‍යය ලොවට හෙළිදරව් කළ අතර බුද්ධ ශාසනයේ සංකේතාත්මක ආරම්භය සිදුවිය. එසේම මීට අමතරව බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේගේ මහාභිනිෂ්ක්‍රමණය, රාහුල කුමරුන්ගේ උපත සහ වස් කාලය ආරම්භ කිරීම වැනි වැදගත් සිදුවීම් රැසක් ද ඇසළ පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය හා සම්බන්ධ වේ.

The Esala Full Moon Poya Day is regarded as one of the most significant poya days for Buddhists around the world. It is a meritorious Poya day that commemorates the historic beginning of Lord Buddha's noble mission of teaching the Dhamma.

The most important event remembered on Esala Full Moon Poya Day is the Lord Buddha's delivery of His first sermon, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, to the five ascetics at Isipatana Migadaya. Through this sermon, the Four Noble Truths were revealed to the world, marking the symbolic beginning of the Buddhist Dispensation. In addition, this Poya Day is associated with several other significant events, including Prince Siddhartha's Great Renunciation (Mahabhinishkramana), the birth of Prince Rahula and the commencement of the annual Vassana Season.

🔴 UGC අනුමත කළ කුසලතා පදනම මත සමසෞඛ්‍ය උපාධිධාරීන් රාජ්‍ය සේවයට බඳවා ගැනීමේ පටිපාටියක් සකසනු!

සමසෞඛ්‍ය උපාධි පාඨමාලා ආරම්භ කර වසර 20 කට වැඩි කාලයක් ගතවී ඇතත් උපාධිධාරීන් රජයේ රෝහල් වලට බඳවාගැනීමේ නිසි ක්‍රමවේදයක් සකස් කර නොමැත. තවමත් බඳවාගැනීම සිදු කරන්නේ පැරණි ඩිප්ලෝමාධාරීන් බඳවාගැනීමට භාවිතා කල ක්‍රමවේදයම වේ. මෙම ක්‍රමවේදය කිසිවිටෙකත් උපාධිධාරීන් බඳවාගැනීමට උචිත නොවන්නේ මෙය හාත්පසින්ම වෙනස් බඳවාගැනීම් දෙකක් නිසාවෙනි. සමසෞඛ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යයන් හා උපාධිධාරීන් ලෙස දිගින් දිගටම ඉල්ලා සිටි ඉල්ලීම වනුයේ අසාධාරණ තරඟ විභාග ක්‍රමවේදය අනුගමනය නොකර කුසලතා අනුපිලිවෙලක් අනුව බඳවාගැනීම සිදු කරන ලෙසයි.

මෙම කුසලතා අනුපිලිවෙල යනු උඩින් පාත් වූවක් නොවේ.

යන මේ සියලු වෘත්තීන්ට බඳවාගන්නේ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ප්‍රතිපාදන කොමිශන් සභාව සකස් කරන කුසලතා අනුපිලිවෙල අනුවයි. සෞඛ්‍ය සේවයේම තවත් අත්‍යවශ්‍ය වෘත්තීන් වන පරිපූරක වෛද්‍යවරුන් බඳවාගැනීමට මෙය භාවිතා නොකරන්නේ මන්ද?
විමතියට කරුණ නම් මේ වනවිට විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ප්‍රතිපාදන කොමිසම සකස් කර සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයට ලබා දී ඇති කුසලතා අනුපිලිවෙල නොසලකා බලහත්කාරයෙන් තරඟ විභාග පවත්වමින් සිටී.
එසේම සියලු පාර්ශවයන්ගේ විරෝධතා නොසලකා තරග විභාගය බලෙන් පවත්වා ඊට පෙනීසිටි පෞද්ගලික විශ්වවිද්‍යාල වල උපාධිධාරීන් පමණක් මේ වන විට රාජ්‍ය සේවය සදහා බදවා ගනිමින් සිටී.

මින් මනාව පැහැදිලි වන්නේ පෞද්ගලික විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ප්‍රවර්ධනය සඳහා සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය මෙම වැඩපිලිවෙල සිදුකරගෙන යන බවයි.
නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනයට අත්තටු ලබාදීමට බලයට පත්වූ, ආණ්ඩුවක් ගන්නා මෙවන් තීරණ වලින් නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනයටත් රාජ්‍ය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලවල උපාධිධාරීන්ටත් සිදුවන අසාධාරණයට එරෙහිව පෙළගැසෙමු.

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද විද්‍යා පීඨයේ හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ 2023/2024 සහෝදරත්වය මගින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබූ "Squadra - 2026" එක්ව ක්‍රීඩා කරමු, එක්ව ජය ගනිමු, යන මැයෙන් වර්ෂ 2026 ක් වූ ජුනි මස 20 වන සෙනසුරාදා දින දවස පුරා ජයවර්ධනපුර ඉසුර දේවප්‍රිය ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේ දී අති සාර්ථක ලෙස පැවැත්විණි.

එහි දී කැමරා කාචය මත සනිටුහන් වූ සුන්දර සේයා රූ පෙළක් මෙසේ ය.

Under the guidance of the Students' Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, "Squadra 2026 - Together we play, Together we triumph", organized by the 2023/2024 brotherhood, was successfully held on Saturday, 20th of June 2026, at the Isura Devapriya Sports Ground, Jayawardenepura.

கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழக தாதியியல் பீடத்தின் தாதியியல் பீட மாணவர் சங்கத்தின் வழிகாட்டுதலின் கீழ், 2023/2024 மாணவர்களால் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட "Squadra – 2026", "ஒன்றாக விளையாடுவோம், ஒன்றாக வெல்வோம்" என்ற கருப்பொருளை மையமாகக் கொண்டு , 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் மாதம் 20 ஆம் திகதி சனிக்கிழமை அன்று, ஜயவர்தனபுர இசுர தேவபிரிய விளையாட்டு மைதானத்தில் மிகவும் விமர்சையாக நடைபெற்றது.

காலம் கடந்தும் நினைவில் நிலைத்திருக்கும் அந்நாளின் அழகிய தருணங்களின் புகைப்படங்களின் தொகுப்பு இதோ.

‎කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨ භූමිය පවරා නොගැනීම හේතුවෙන් හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍යයන් හට මුහුණ පෑමට සිදුව ඇති ගැටලු සම්බන්ධව, පවරා ගැනීමට අදාළ සියලු පාර්ශ්වයන් සමඟ පසුගිය 2026 අප්‍රේල් මස 02 වන දින පැවති සාකච්ඡාවේ දිගුවක් ලෙස, එම ගැටලුවට අදාළව දෙවැනි සාකච්ඡාව 2026 ජූනි මස 30 වන දින එනම් ඊයේ දින, උසස් අධ්‍යාපන නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය මධුර සෙනෙවිරත්න මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේදී පැවැත්වුණි.

‎ඒ සඳහා කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය උපකුලපතිතුමන්, හෙද විද්‍යා පීඨයේ හිටපු පීඨාධිපතිතුමා, වත්මන් පීඨාධිපතිතුමිය, හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ සභාපති ඇතුළු සාමාජිකයන් කිහිප දෙනෙකු, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය මහා ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ සභාපතිතුමන්, ඉඩම් අමාත්‍යාංශය, නාගරික සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය, ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර මහරෝහල් පාලක මණ්ඩලය, සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය, උසස් අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශය සහ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ප්‍රතිපාදන කොමිෂන් සභාව යන පාර්ශ්ව රැසක් සහභාගි වූහ.

‎එහිදී, පවරා ගැනීමේ ගැටලුව නිරාකරණය කරගැනීම සඳහා ගත හැකි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග කිහිපයක් නාගරික සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය විසින් යෝජනා කළ අතර ඉඩම් අමාත්‍යාංශය සමඟ එක්ව පවරා ගැනීමේ කටයුතු කඩිනමින් සිදු කරගැනීමට හැකිවනු ඇතැයි ඔවුහු ප්‍රකාශ කර සිටියහ. එමෙන්ම එහිදී පීඨයේ ප්‍රධාන පිවිසුම ඉදිකිරීම, නව ගොඩනැගිලි සඳහා විදුලිය ලබා ගැනීම, නව ගොඩනැගිල්ලේ ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතු කඩිනම් කිරීම ඇතුළු අනෙකුත් ගැටලු ද සවිස්තරාත්මකව සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදී.

මෙහිදී අප විසින්, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද විද්‍යා පීඨය පවරා ගැනීම සම්බන්ධ ගැටලුව විසඳා ගැනීම උදෙසා කමිටුවක් පත් කිරීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවය පැහැදිලි කර සිටි අතර මීළඟ සාකච්ඡාවට පෙර හෙද පීඨයේ නිරීක්ෂණ චාරිකාවක යෙදීමේ වැදගත්කම ද පෙන්වා දෙන ලදී.

‎මේ සම්බන්ධ ඉදිරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ගවල ඵලදායීතාව පිළිබඳ අඛණ්ඩව සොයා බලමින් හෙද විද්‍යා පීඨය කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය වෙත පවරා ගැනීමේ කටයුතු කඩිනම් කරගැනීමට අප බලාපොරොත්තු වන අතර මෙම ගැටලුව සාර්ථකව විසඳා ගැනීමට හැකිවනු ඇතැයි හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමය ලෙස අපි අපේක්ෂා කරමු.

As an extension of the discussion held on 2nd of April 2026 with all parties concerned regarding the problems faced by the students of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo due to the delay in the acquisition of the land of the Faculty of Nursing, the second discussion on the issue was held yesterday, 30th of June 2026 at the University of Colombo under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Mr. Madura Seneviratne.

‎The Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, the former Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, the current Dean of the Faculty, the President of the Students' Union of the Faculty of Nursing, the President of the Students' Union of the University of Colombo, the Ministry of Lands, the Urban Development Authority, the Governing Board of the Sri Jayawardanapura General Hospital, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher Education and the University Grants Commission and other members participated in the meeting.
‎
‎There, the Urban Development Authority proposed several measures that could be taken to resolve the issue of acquisition and they stated that in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, the acquisition process would be completed expeditiously. And also, the construction of the main entrance of the faculty, obtaining electricity for the new buildings, and expediting the construction of the new building, among other issues, were also discussed in detail.

Here, we explained the need to appoint a committee to resolve the issue related to the takeover of the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Colombo and also pointed out the importance of conducting an observation tour of the Faculty of Nursing before the next discussion.

‎We hope to expedite the process of taking over the Faculty of Nursing to the University of Colombo by continuously investigating the effectiveness of future measures in this regard and we, as the Students' Union of the Faculty of Nursing, expect that this issue will be resolved successfully.

ශ්‍රී ලාංකික බෞද්ධ ජනතාවට ඉතාමත් වැදගත් පොහොය දිනයක් ලෙස පොසොන් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය හැඳින්විය හැකිය. ශ්‍රී ලංකාව බුදු දහමේ ආලෝකයෙන් ආලෝකමත් වූ ඓතිහාසික මොහොත සිහිපත් කිරීමේ පුණ්‍යමය දිනය වන්නේ ද පොසොන් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයයි. මෙය චන්ද්‍ර මාස ක්‍රමයට අනුව වසරේ දෙවන පොහොය දිනයයි.

පොසොන් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයෙහි දී ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් තුන්වන ධර්ම සංගායනාවෙහි ප්‍රතිඵලයක් වශයෙන් ධර්මාශෝක අධි රජුගේ අනුග්‍රහයෙන් යුතුව අනුබුදු මිහිඳු මහරහතන් වහන්සේ බුදු දහම රැගෙන ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට වැඩම කිරීම සිහිපත් කරනු ලබයි. ඒ අනුව ආරම්භ වූ අධ්‍යාත්මික ගමන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සංස්කෘතිය, සම්ප්‍රදාය සහ ජීවන රටාව තුළ ද වෙනස්කම් ඇති කිරීමට මහත් බලපෑමක් ඇති කළ බව මහාවංශය විසින් සාක්ෂි සපයයි.

Poson Full Moon Poya Day is regarded as one of the most significant Poya days for the Buddhist people in Sri Lanka. It is the meritorious day that commemorates the historic moment when Sri Lanka was illuminated by the light of the Lord Buddha's teachings. According to the lunar calendar, it is the second Full Moon Poya Day of the year.

The principal significance of Poson Full Moon Poya Day is the commemoration of the arrival of Arahant Mahinda Thero to Sri Lanka, who brought the Lord Buddha's teachings to the island under the patronage of Emperor Dharmashoka following the Third Buddhist Council. The Mahavamsa records that this marked the beginning of a profound spiritual journey that greatly influenced and transformed Sri Lanka's culture, traditions and way of life.

பொசொன் பௌர்ணமி தினம் இலங்கை பௌத்த மக்களுக்கு மிக முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த பௌர்ணமி தினமாக கருதப்படுகிறது. இலங்கை புத்த தர்மத்தின் ஒளியால் ஒளிர்ந்த வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புமிக்க தருணத்தை நினைவுகூரும் புண்ணிய நாளாகவும் இது விளங்குகிறது. சந்திர நாட்காட்டியின்படி, இது ஆண்டின் இரண்டாவது பௌர்ணமி தினமாகும்.
