💙 Prostate Cancer Awareness 💙

Did you know that prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men worldwide? Early detection can save lives, yet many men delay screening because they feel healthy or are afraid to get checked.

⚠️ Warning signs may include:
• Difficulty urinating
• Frequent urination, especially at night
• Weak urine flow
• Blood in urine or semen
• Persistent pain in the lower back, hips, or pelvis

Remember: prostate cancer may not cause symptoms in its early stages. That’s why regular checkups and screening are so important, especially for men over 50 or those with a family history of the disease.

🩺 Your health is your wealth. Encourage the men in your life—fathers, brothers, husbands, uncles, and friends—to talk to a healthcare provider and get screened.

Early detection saves lives. Share this message and help spread awareness.

Your mood isn’t random… your hormones are clocking in for different shifts every month. 👩🏾‍⚕️🩺

🌱 Follicular Phase (after your period)
Estrogen starts rising, so you may feel more energetic, motivated, social, and mentally sharp. This is often the phase where confidence gets a little boost.

✨ Ovulation
Estrogen peaks and many women feel their most outgoing, confident, flirty, and optimistic. You may notice increased energy and a stronger desire to connect with people.

🌙 Luteal Phase
Progesterone takes the lead. You may crave more rest, alone time, and comfort. Some women experience mood swings, irritability, anxiety, or emotional sensitivity—especially if PMS is part of the picture.

🩺 Walkabout Nurse Tip: Before calling yourself “moody,” check where you are in your cycle. Understanding your hormones can help you work with your body instead of fighting against it.

💬 Ladies, which phase do you feel most like yourself in?

Typhoid can not be diagnosed by just looking at a persons face, dark blood or symptoms. It has to be confirmed through laboratory testing of stool, blood or urine.

Why do women end up pregnant even after taking the morning-after pill? This is because the pill works by delaying ovulation but if your ovaries have already released an egg, and you do risky tin, fertilization will take place! The pill does not stop fertilization when there’s already an egg. If you’re not ready to be a parent, use protection when having fun.

It’s Autism Awareness Month! Have you noticed your child struggles to speak at a certain age and they are just different from other children? No, they’re not “zepsay”! They’re just different, not sick or broken. Many Liberians live with autism without being diagnosed. This month we educate ourselves on autism and how we can provide support for families and people on the autism spectrum.
