JFK Medical Center Refutes False Claims of Doctor “Go-Slow”

Monrovia, Liberia – Tuesday, May 19, 2026 – The Management of John F. Kennedy Medical Center has noted several misleading social media posts alleging that doctors at the hospital are protesting over salaries and that no medical doctors are currently on duty.

The Management categorically refutes these claims as false, misleading, and intended to create unnecessary public panic.

At no time has there been any protest or disruption of medical services at the institution. Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals remain on duty and continue to provide uninterrupted medical care to patients and the general public.

We caution the public and media institutions against spreading unverified information that may cause unnecessary alarm or undermine confidence in the country’s premier referral hospital.

The public is strongly encouraged to seek information concerning the operations of the hospital only through the official communication channels of John F. Kennedy Medical Center.

The management of JFK Medical Center observed International Midwives Day, celebrating the services of midwives, remembering those who have passed, and encouraging a renewed commitment to quality care and vigilance to ensure patients receive timely treatment. Dr. Linda Birch urged the midwives to “redouble” their efforts in tackling maternal and neonatal mortality.
