Marie Fell - The Pilates Physio

Marie Fell - The Pilates Physio I am so passionate about improving pelvic health. I'm not currently teaching Pilates due to studying. My mission is to empower, inspire and educate others.

My aim is to empower, educate, inform and inspire pregnant and post natal people so they can make informed choices about their healthcare needs. Hello my name is Marie Fell and I am the founder of The Pilates Physio UK. I am a qualified physiotherapist with over 12 years NHS experience in a wide array of specialisms but my passion lies in Pelvic health! I've been teaching Pilates for four years to

pregnant, post natal and general Pilates enthusiasts. I love Pilates as it is brilliant for...
* strengthening your spine,
* toning your tummy,
* perfecting your posture,
* focusing your mind,
* improving your balance
* increasing your body awareness. Pilates practise will help you to prevent injuries by giving you that insight and awareness into how your body functions and moves. I specialise in teaching post natal and pregnancy Pilates as I am passionate about keeping mummies to be and mums fit and active. I also teach Pilates at Beginner and Intermediate levels. I love to teach and share my expertise to give little pearls of wisdom that help ladies through labour or give them a head start with loosing their mummy tummy in a safe way that won't cause a vaginal prolapse or an increase in the tummy muscles separating. Pilates for ladies expecting or new mums can...
* Improve your posture during and after pregnancy
* Prepare your body and calm for birth
* Strengthen your core muscles and reclaim your waist
* Build up your fitness in a gentle but effective way and
* Boost your confidence. Please enjoy my page and I hope you learn a few useful tips along the way to use yourself or share with others.

🌟 Cheers 🥂 ⁣

First week of touring England interviewing FIVE different early implementer sites of the new perinatal pelvic health service DONE ✅ ⁣

It’s been emotional with tears of frustration & despair but yesterday we also found joy & gratitude 🥹 ⁣

I want to say a huge THANK YOU to our pelvic health NHS physio’s and midwives who are doing INCREDIBLE work often with little help or support. ⁣

You are all AMAZING 😍 & we THANK YOU so much 🙏🏼⁣

Times are very turbulent and uncertain in the NHS right down. In general staff moral is low and every day is a battle against bureaucracy. ⁣

If you go into a hospital today please be kind to the workers who are doing incredibly well to keep turning up to work every day. They are having a TOUGH time. ⁣

I can’t wait to analyze all the information we have. ⁣

THANK YOU to all the hard working NHS staff 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼⁣

It’s been FIVE years since…⁣

🌟 Sophie was born⁣
🌟 I campaigned for better post natal care ⁣
🌟I created post natal pelvic health screening tools for triage⁣

Any change? ⁣

🙋🏼‍♀️ yes 🙌🏼 ⁣

🌟 In 2023/2024 all local maternity systems will roll out there perinatal pelvic health services and women & those who don’t identify as women will get better information & care that they deserve. ⁣

🌟 So much work is going on already in many local maternity services across England at the moment. ⁣
🌟 14 sites have been working on this since 2021/2022 and there is exciting change going on. ⁣
🌟 Now we have another group of sites also rolling out this work before planned national rollout next year FOR ALL! ⁣

What excites me the most is services are striving for equality & inclusion of all mothers especially those who have not been reached before. ⁣

It’s exciting. ⁣
It’s empowering. ⁣
And it’s TIME for better perinatal care of the mother. ⁣

There are wonderful inter professional relationships & collaborative work taking place between many health care professionals. ⁣

My joy at the moment is next week I get to interview 5 of the services to see what they are doing regarding Perinatal Pelvic Health Services to help write a strategic report for NHS England on recruitment challenges and solutions regarding pelvic health physio’s and also how this service can be financially sustainable. ⁣

It’s a very exciting time. ⁣

Like most things particularly in the NHS, change takes time but I am extremely confident we are going to see wonderful changes soon. ⁣

Happy Thursday everyone!⁣

Hi everyone,

I’m so sorry I am incognito 🥸 atm!

It’s because I’m working currently full time at Brunel University as a Research Assistant on a service evaluation project about perinatal pelvic health services which I am delighted about.

Not much time for social media though!

I am teaching internationally pelvic health in schools here which is a huge privilege & joy, so life is very busy but also very rewarding.

I hope everyone is doing well?

There are numerous posts on here about pelvic health so please do check through here for them or see the updated educational section I wrote up on my website for lots of wonderful pelvic health information in one place.

I’ll try & keep posting updates about behind the scenes stuff!
