How yoga changed my life?
I met people I would have never accepted into my circle before yoga. People I probably would have judged. Some of them became my best friends for years.
I accept my body. I’m 10 kg heavier than I used to be after having my second baby at 36, and I’m okay with that. I accept that my mind can be difficult too. I don’t need to make my struggles beautiful or pretend I’ve overcome them.
I find it really hard to judge anyone anymore. People are neutral in my eyes until they show me who they are. I let people come as they are.
I’ve learned not to react to everything. I wait, trust that strange universal pull, and speak when I feel that final push to protect my boundaries.
And ironically, after all these years, my body has basically retired from physical yoga 😅 A late second pregnancy left me with complications that mean I can’t practise the way I used to. And surprisingly, I’m completely okay with that.
I watch my yogis practise and progress, and I’m genuinely happy for them. My yoga doesn’t depend on what my body can do anymore.
More than a decade later, I still feel like I’m somewhere at the beginning.
Yoga is a never ending story. It’s the BEST story! 💓
