Rehefa miaro ny zanany ny fiarahamonina
Tao aminâny Fokontany Ifarihy, kaominina Ankaraobato, distrikanâAntananarivo Atsimondrano, maro ireo zaza sy ankizy mbola tsy nahazo vaksiny (âzĂ©ro doseâ) sy tsy ampy vaksiny (âsous-vaccinĂ©â) noho ny fahasahiranana sy ny tahotry ny ray aman-dreny ka tsy nahafahanâizy ireo nisitraka ny tolotra ara-pahasalamana ifotony. Tsy fahampianâny mpiasanâny fahasalamana sy ny fahatsapana ho voahilika no isanâny olana lehibe nisy teo aminâireo fiarahamonina tao anatinâny Fokontany Ifarihy.
Mba hamahana izany dia nanatanteraka fomba fiasa mifototra aminâny fiarahamonina ny OSC MCDG/GH niaraka taminâny fanohananâi GAVI, dia ny Vaccination PilotĂ© par la CommunautĂ© (VPC) na Fampanaovana Vaksiny tarihinâny Fokonolona. Nampandraisina anjara, vokatry ny fanairana natao azy ireo, ireo mpitarika sy olona itokisanâny mponina mba hitady sy hanentana ireo ankizy tsy na latsaka vaksiny. Vokatrâizany, ankizy miisa 28 taminâireo tokantrano 31 no vita vaksiny, ka 17 taminâireo dia ankizy tsy ampy vaksiny.
Ankehitriny, niova ny fomba fijerinâny ray aman-dreny : tsy fahamenarana intsony ny fanaovana vaksiny fa lasa mariky ny fiarovana sy ny fitiavana ny zanaka. Mampiseho ity tantara ity fa rehefa miray hina ny fiarahamonina dia afaka miaro ny fahasalamanâny ankizy sy namerenana ny fahatokisana very.
Fijoroana vavolombelona avy aminâny renim-pianakaviana iray
Yasmine Razanampanahy, 31 taona, renim-pianakaviana manan-janaka efatra izay mbola tsy nahazo vaksiny taloha, dia nilaza fa efa very fanantenana tanteraka.
« Za dia efa tsy nanantena intsony hoe mbola ho vita vaccin reto ankizy ireto⊠»
(Tsy nanantena intsony aho hoe mbola ho vita vaksiny ireo zanako ireo.)
Ankehitriny kosa dia efa voaaro avokoa ny zanany efatra.
« Raha natao tahaka izao foana izy ity efa ela no vita daholo ny ankizy »
(Raha tahaka izao hatrany no nanaovana azy dia efa vita vaksiny daholo ny ankizy hatraminâizay.)
Ny fijoroany vavolombelona dia maneho fa ny fanesorana ny henatra sy ny tahotra no nahafahanâny ray aman-dreny niverina natoky sy nirehareha aminâny fiarovana ny zanany.
« Za dia efa tsy nanantena intsony hoe mbola ho vita vaccin reto ankizy ireto⊠»
« Raha natao tahaka izao foana izy ity efa ela no vita daholo ny ankizy »
When a Community Protects Its Children
In Ifarihy village, within the commune of Ankaraobato in the Antananarivo Atsimondrano district, many children remained âzero-doseâ or under-vaccinated because of poverty and the fear experienced by parents, preventing them from accessing basic health services. The shortage of health workers and the feeling of exclusion were among the major challenges faced by the community.
To address this issue, MCDG/GH, with the support of GAVI, implemented a community-based strategy known as Community-Led Vaccination (CLV). Through community mobilization, local leaders and trusted community members were engaged to identify and encourage children who were unvaccinated or under-vaccinated. As a result, 28 children from 31 households received vaccines, including 17 under-vaccinated children.
Today, parentsâ perceptions have changed: vaccination is no longer seen as a source of shame, but as a symbol of protection and love for their children. This story demonstrates that when a community stands together, it can protect childrenâs health and restore lost trust.
A Motherâs Testimony
Yasmine Razanampanahy, a 31-year-old mother of four children who were previously zero-dose, had almost lost hope.
âZa dia efa tsy nanantena intsony hoe mbola ho vita vaccin reto ankizy iretoâŠâ
(I no longer hoped that my children could ever be vaccinated.)
Today, all four of her children are protected.
âRaha natao tahaka izao foana izy ity efa ela no vita daholo ny ankizyâ
(If things had always been done this way, all children would have been vaccinated long ago.)
Her testimony highlights the key to success: replacing shame with pride and restoring confidence within the community.
