We had such a great time in our session exploring the parts of the body using a new puzzle I recently introduced in the clinic.

This hands-on activity is a fun and engaging way to support children’s learning while targeting important speech and language goals. Through play, the puzzle helps children build their vocabulary (e.g. naming body parts) and improve comprehension. It also encourages turn-taking, attention, and interaction which are key foundations for communication.

I had the opportunity to discuss the role of speech and language therapists in the identification and management of Mild Cognitive Impairment with a group of nurses working both in hospital settings and in the community. We also explored how Mild Cognitive Impairment can progress to dementia and the importance of early recognition and intervention.
