The APM is deeply saddened by the passing of Podiatrist Dan Chetty. He will be forever remembered by our members as the person who pioneered Podiatry in Malta having guided and taught the first two Podiatry graduate cohorts.

L-Assoċjazzjoni tal-Podjatri ta’ Malta tixtieq twassal dawn il-punti lill-pubbliku:

1. L-APM jew podjatri membri tagħha ma’ jirrakomandaw l-ebda’ suletta li qiegħda tigi reklamata ‘online’ minkejja ċertu messaġġi promozzjonali li jinferixxu dan.
2. Hemm differenza sostanzjali bejn suletti li jingħataw wara konsulta ma’ podjatra iddisinjati sabiex ifejqu jew jillimitaw l-uġiegħ għall-kuntrarju ta’ suletti ġeneriċi li jinbigħhu online.
3. Riklamar li jinferixxi dijanjosi klinika mingħajr konsulta professjonali jista jagħmel iktar ħsara milli ġid. Afda saħħtek u saqajk f’idejn min hu kwalifikat.
4. Għal kwalunkwe problema fir-riġlejn, podjatra jista’ jghinek. Agħżel il-podjatra ta’ l-għazla tiegħek b’moħħok mistrieħ minn hawnhekk:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Association of Podiatrists of Malta would like to pass on the following points to the general public:

1. Neither the APM nor its members recommend any generic insole sold online despite claims to the contrary currently being advertised inferring this.
2. There is a substantial difference between custom orthotics dispensed and prescribed following a thorough podiatry consultation designed to treat and limit pain as opposed to generic insoles that are sold online.
3. Any advertisement that infers a clinical diagnosis without a professional consultation may be harmful. Always seek care from trusted health professionals.
