Altai or Himalayan Shilajit – which one is better? 🤔
People ask this all the time, as if it were a competition.
The truth: both are exceptional – the real difference is in their character, not in their quality.
🌍 Origin & altitude
Himalayan Shilajit comes from the highest mountain range on Earth, often collected above 5,000 m.
Altai Shilajit comes from a remote mountain region around 3,000 m across Russia, Kazakhstan, China, and Mongolia.
Both are ancient, secluded environments where Shilajit has formed for millions of years.
👁️ Appearance & smell
Himalayan: darker, deep brown to almost black, with a stronger earthy smell.
Altai: slightly lighter, sometimes with amber or reddish tones, and a milder aroma.
This is about preference, not quality – a Shilajit with zero smell is usually a bad sign.
⚡ What really matters: fulvic acid
Fulvic acid is the key active compound behind mineral transport and most of Shilajit’s benefits.
Many products on the market sit around 20–40%. Anything over 60% is already high level.
At Target.Health we only work with lab‑verified Shilajit:
✅ Altai Shilajit – up to 74% fulvic acid
✅ Himalayan Shilajit – up to 82% fulvic acid
Both are independently tested, with full transparency on purity and heavy metals.
So which one should you choose?
Both will give you real results.
If you want the most intense profile, Himalayan is the “peak” experience.
If you prefer something slightly milder in aroma but still powerful, Altai is a great choice.
In the end, it’s not about the mountain ⛰️
It’s about quality, testing, and trust.
