The discussion focused on key aspects of PMOS, including causes, diagnosis, and treatment options, with the aim of increasing awareness and encouraging everyone to take a proactive approach towards their health.

A big thank you to everyone who actively participated, asked questions, shared their thoughts, and interacted throughout the session. Your engagement made the discussion informative, meaningful, and impactful. đź’š

I am pleased to share my latest newspaper article, "As Mauritius Ages, Healthcare Must Evolve." , published today, 12th July 2026, in Le Dimanche L'Hebdo No.3522. Defimedia.info

As our population grows older, we are facing new healthcare challenges that require a shift in how we prevent, diagnose, and manage disease. Healthy ageing is not only about living longer—it is about maintaining independence, dignity, and quality of life.

In this article, I discuss why our healthcare system must adapt to meet the evolving needs of the elderly, with a greater emphasis on prevention, chronic disease management, multidisciplinary care, and community support.

I hope this article encourages meaningful discussion on how we can work together to build a healthcare system that is better prepared for the future.

I invite you to read the article and share your thoughts in the comments.

Protect yourself and those around you đź’™

Seasonal influenza isn’t just a bad cold—it can lead to serious complications, especially for young children, older adults, and people with underlying health conditions. Getting vaccinated is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce your risk.

Who should get vaccinated?
✔️ Adults aged 65 years and older
✔️ Pregnant women
✔️ People with chronic conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, heart or kidney disease)
✔️ Healthcare workers and caregivers
✔️ People living in close or crowded settings

✔️ Safe and updated every year
✔️ Helps prevent severe illness and hospitalizations
✔️ Protects your family and community

Don’t wait until it’s too late—make the influenza vaccine part of your routine care this season.

In recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month this March, we had the opportunity to conduct an awareness talk at IBL Together focused on the importance of early detection and prevention of colorectal cancer.

The session highlighted key risk factors, common signs and symptoms, and the critical role of regular screening. We also discussed simple yet impactful lifestyle changes, including healthy eating, staying active, and reducing risk behaviors.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable cancers when detected early—awareness truly saves lives.
