A mother is called a mother because of a child.
The earth without trees, without ‘the flora & fauna’, is a mother without a child which is just impossible.
When she does not exist, do we as humans?

Four Hours. No Classroom. No Lectures. Just an Experience.

They arrived with curiosity.

Seven participants, each wondering what four hours of Stress Management & Emotional Wellbeing could possibly look like, especially when nature was going to be part of the experience.

What unfolded was not a conventional workshop.

We stepped away from the usual classroom setting and allowed the natural surroundings to become part of the learning. The walk, the changing weather, the silence, the conversations and the moments of pause slowly created something deeper: an opportunity to become more present to ourselves.

There were moments of lightness, moments of stillness, moments of reflection, and moments where participants began noticing things they usually move past in the rush of everyday life.

Even when the rain arrived, the journey continued. ☔

Back at the centre, the experience moved into a deeper exploration of stress, emotions, perspective and the way we respond to life's challenges.

Rather than being given ready-made answers, participants brought their own experiences into the conversation.

We explored a simple but powerful question:

When life is challenging, what changes first, the situation or the way we experience and respond to it?

The day continued with reflection, meaningful conversations, shared laughter, warm herbal tea and finally a Sattvic meal prepared and enjoyed together.

Four hours passed.

But perhaps the most meaningful part was not what we did.

It was what participants began to notice, question and experience within themselves.

A workshop where nature became a space for awareness, conversation became a space for reflection, and the experience itself became part of the learning.

And maybe that is where wellbeing begins:

Not by escaping life, but by learning to experience it with greater awareness. 🌱

Present in the moment.

We had the privilege of facilitating a Nature Journaling experience for approximately 70 participants from ER Hospitality – Veranda Pointe aux Biches—a slow, conscious walk designed to help participants reconnect with themselves and the nature around them.

Although everyone walked the same path, each person experienced a unique journey.

For some, it was their first time consciously immersing themselves in nature. For others, it was a long-awaited return. Bare feet meeting the earth, the sound of birdsong, the movement of the trees, and the quiet rhythm of walking invited participants to observe with awareness.

The walk led us to a water reservoir, where participants experienced a guided water-based grounding practice. We then gathered among the trees for conscious practices and quiet observation, creating space to slow down, reconnect, and simply be with nature. For many, these moments offered a sense of ease, clarity, and renewal.

With the guidance of Natir, participants also deepened their understanding of Mauritius' unique biodiversity, discovering the endemic and endangered plants, trees, insects, and wildlife that make our island so remarkable.

At Abhyas Institute of Universal Awareness, Nature Journaling is an experiential learning process that nurtures awareness, encourages a deeper relationship with the environment, and inspires more conscious choices in everyday life. Through these experiences, we hope to contribute to ecosystem preservation, support indigenous organisations, and encourage lifestyles that align with the spirit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Climate Action. Alongside these environmental values, such experiences also strengthen connection, collaboration, and team cohesion.

Nature meets each person differently. Our role is simply to create the conditions for that meeting to unfold.

We are grateful to ER Hospitality for trusting us with this experience, and to Ashu Skyguurl Harsha Chakoory, whose thoughtful coordination and organisation made this workshop possible. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Natir for generously sharing their knowledge, and to every participant who embraced the journey with openness and curiosity.

"Nature is sacrosanct to our existence on this planet."

Have we ever paused, as we walk past trees, birds, and flowers year after year, to ask: are you native? endangered? or simply intruders? in a land that was never ours to define?

Nature does not need us to survive—we need nature.

At Abhyas , we believe that awareness is the foundation of responsibility. Before we can protect the natural world, we must first understand our place within it and recognise that every living being has an equal right to exist.

On 1st August, our community had the privilege of participating in "Connecting with Our Mauritian Plants and Animals," an experiential workshop facilitated by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, participants explored Mauritius' extraordinary biodiversity while reflecting on the importance of conservation—not as an obligation, but as a way of living in harmony with the ecosystem that sustains us.

Our sincere gratitude to the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation for sharing their knowledge and inspiring our community to deepen their relationship with the natural world.

As a reminder:
"We need the ecosystem to be in place for us to survive; nature does not need us, but we do."

May this understanding guide us towards living with greater awareness, responsibility, and respect for all forms of life.

The *International Day of Hope*, declared by the United Nations, is a global invitation to cultivate hope through education, community engagement, acts of kindness, and reconciliation. It reminds us that even in uncertain times, hope remains a powerful force that strengthens resilience, promotes inclusion, and inspires collective action towards a better future.

As an official partner of the International Day of Hope, Abhyas Institute of Universal Awareness observed this occasion on 11 July by bringing together representatives from government ministries, educational institutions, healthcare, universities, businesses, media, environmental organisations, faith-based organisations, NGOs, and the wider community.

The event focused on four key pillars that contribute to sustainable development:
• Health
• Education
• Economic Inclusion
• Climate Action

Together, participants shared perspectives and explored practical ways to transform hope into meaningful action within their communities.

मातृशक्ति 🌸 | She was in the soil. In the sun. In every hand that served.

This Mother’s Day, Mātṛśakti became a space to honour the nurturing energy that exists within all of life.

🌿 Bare feet. Living earth.
We walked consciously through nature at Malenga, reconnecting with the simplicity and intelligence of the natural world. Every step became an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and return to the present moment.

☀️ Then we paused. And simply received.
Under the morning sun, we allowed the body and mind to settle into stillness. A quiet reminder that healing also comes through rest, warmth, and presence.

🌬️ We breathed. Together. Deeply.
Through guided movement, breathing practices, and sound therapy, we explored balance, awareness, and the quiet strength of the feminine energy that nurtures and sustains life.

🐄 We served. We cooked. We sat together.
Back at Abhyas, seva became an expression of gratitude. Meals were prepared and served with care, the cows were tended to, and space was created for mothers and families to simply receive and be together in warmth and presence.

📖 Then came the journal.
The reflections that emerged were shaped by the morning itself — grounded by the earth, softened by the breath, and nourished through shared experience.

That is Mātṛśakti.
Not only a celebration of mothers, but a reminder of our relationship with nature, nourishment, compassion, and awareness within us all. 🌸
