Spain has evacuated 100 Palestinians, including 20 children, from the Gaza Strip in its sixth medical evacuation mission, as the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave continues to deepen.

The group, consisting of patients in need of urgent medical treatment and their accompanying relatives, arrived in Spain under a humanitarian operation coordinated with international partners and Egyptian authorities.

Announcing the mission, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said Spain would continue providing medical care to those affected by the war.

“Taking care of them is a moral duty. Indifference can never be an option,” Sánchez wrote on X.

The evacuation comes as Gaza's health system remains under severe strain after months of conflict, with hospitals facing critical shortages of medicines, fuel and medical supplies while treating thousands of wounded civilians.

Spain is among a small number of European countries receiving critically ill Palestinian patients for specialised treatment, amid growing international appeals for expanded humanitarian access and medical evacuations from Gaza.

The latest operation highlights ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to civilians, particularly children and patients with life-threatening injuries, as the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate.
