Dr. Purmah is a UK-trained Consultant Cardiologist with 15 years of experience in Cardiovascular Medicine and holding qualifications including MBChB, MRCP (UK), MD (Res), CCT, MSc (LSE) (Merit), FESC, FRCP(London). He graduated from the University of Birmingham and trained in Cardiology in high volume, tertiary cardiac centres in Wales and West Midlands. He also undertook an Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship in Calgary, Canada before being appointed as Consultant Cardiologist in Birmingham. In this capacity, he has led and developed the Cardiac MRI service at the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust for more than 6 years.

Dr. Purmah has specialist expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging , particularly Cardiac MRI as well as CT coronary angiography and Echocardiography. His specialist interests also include Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathies and Atrial Fibrillation. During his time in the UK, he was also the Lead for the Hypertension service where he managed patients with resistant high blood pressure.
