A toy that looked harmless almost cost this beautiful bird its life.

During surgery, we removed a large amount of soft wool and toy fibres from this bird’s digestive tract. What may seem like a safe toy can become extremely dangerous if swallowed.

Birds are naturally curious. They chew, shred, and sometimes ingest materials that can cause life-threatening blockages, requiring emergency surgery.

The good news is that the surgery was successful, and our brave little patient is now recovering well. We are closely monitoring this feathered friend and look forward to seeing a full recovery. ❤️🪶

To all bird owners:
• Avoid toys with loose wool, threads, strings, or soft fibres.
• Regularly inspect toys for damage.
• Remove worn-out toys immediately.
• Always supervise your bird during playtime.

A few moments of prevention can save a lifetime of heartbreak.

Re**al Prolapse in an Iguana 🦎

Re**al prolapse is a serious medical emergency in reptiles. It occurs when the re**al tissue protrudes through the vent and requires immediate veterinary attention to prevent permanent tissue damage or infection.

In this case, our team provided prompt assessment and treatment to give this iguana the best possible chance of recovery.

Early diagnosis and treatment can make all the difference. If you notice any tissue protruding from your reptile’s vent, do not attempt to push it back yourself. Keep the tissue clean and moist, and seek veterinary care immediately.

🚨 Urinary Blockage in Male Cats is a TRUE EMERGENCY 🚨

A male cat that cannot pass urine requires immediate veterinary attention. Without treatment, a urinary blockage can quickly lead to severe pain, kidney damage, electrolyte imbalances, bladder rupture, and can become life-threatening.

Urinary catheterization is a lifesaving procedure that helps relieve the obstruction, restore urine flow, and stabilize the patient.

Common signs of urinary blockage include:
• Frequent trips to the litter box with little or no urine
• Straining or prolonged attempts to urinate
• Crying or vocalizing while trying to urinate
• Excessive licking of the ge***al area
• Blood in the urine
• Vomiting, lethargy, or loss of appetite
• A painful, enlarged bladder

⚠️ Do not wait. If your cat shows any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately. Early diagnosis and treatment can save your cat’s life.
