Congratulations to Dr Peter Austin Morton Ntenda on receiving the ยฃ10,000 Flexible Seed Grant through the Discovery Research Support Hub (DRSH).

Dr Ntenda, a Research Fellow at the Malaria Alert Centre, focuses on malaria vaccines, immune responses, and child health. His work explores how micronutrients, malaria exposure, and immune factors influence the effectiveness of the RTS, S vaccine and booster responses in African children.

This grant will support preliminary data generation and analysis to strengthen research capacity and enhance future funding opportunities.

The award also reflects DRSHโ€™s continued commitment to supporting researchers through capacity-building, mentorship and access to funding.

The Discovery Research Support Hub (DRSH) offers a structured, independent peer review process designed to sharpen your application before it reaches a funder.

The Hub will find an expert reviewer from a relevant board who will provide rigorous, constructive feedback for your proposal. All costs relating to peer review will be covered by the Hub.

Today we wrap up the Grant Writing Retreat, a week dedicated to empowering early- and mid-career researchers to develop competitive, funder-aligned proposals.

Through expert guidance, peer collaboration, and hands-on practice, participants transformed draft ideas into stronger applications. Beyond the skills gained, the retreat fostered reflection, networking, and community, leaving researchers inspired and better equipped for their research journey.

Dr Blessings Likoswe shares some of the lessons from the retreat.
