Family Health Services (FHS) formerly PSI/Malawi is a local organization implementing programs aimed at improving lives of Malawians. FHS implements projects with multidisciplinary approach that draws on the tenets of public health, marketing, behavioral economics, and human centered design. Priority health areas for FHS include HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health and rights and malaria prevention. Currently, FHS is getting support from USAID, FCDO, KFW and Bill and Melinda Gates.

“I am because we are”
At Family Health Services, Umunthu is more than a belief, it is how we show up, every day. We work with others to co-create lasting solutions. Motivated by this, we joined partners from across sectors at the 2nd Edition of the Umunthu Social Impact Forum in Lilongwe (2–3 June 2026).
At the Forum, we brought this to life through action:
Young People First
Through the Youth Alert Program, we equip young people with trusted information to make informed choices and shape healthier futures.
Sustainable Health Solutions
We are improving how we deliver services through cost-recovery social enterprise models, ensuring long-term access to essential health products.
Also, on display were:
• Chishango – Malawi’s flagship male condom brand
• Care – Female condoms expanding choice, dignity, and access
• Water Guard – Simple and affordable household water treatment product.
A defining moment was the engagement with the Hon. Mary Thom Navicha, Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, MP, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in driving public health impact.
Real impact is built through shared effort.

Planning with purpose — that's how we do it at FHS.
Last week, our team came together for our Annual Work Planning Meeting — a full day dedicated to shaping a bold, impact-driven strategy for 2026/27.
We reflected on the wins and hard lessons of 2025/26, and channelled every insight into co-creating priorities that bring us closer to our mission: empowering Malawians for healthier lives.
What made the day truly powerful:
1. Honest reflections on achievements and challenges across programs
2. Cross-program conversations that unlocked real collaboration opportunities
3. Teams building workplans rooted in our Adaptive Strategy
4. A shared commitment to consolidated, results-driven priorities

And through it all, four of our values showed up in the room:

Do it well — rigorous, evidence-informed priorities from every team
Do it with others — collaboration wasn't an agenda item, it was the culture
Do it boldly — we asked the hard questions and committed to ambitious goals
Do it into the future — every plan anchored firmly in our long-term strategy

We don't just plan. We plan together, with purpose, and with people at the centre.
